Roberto Gordon Gau – we called him Gordon PawWord Story
Dear Friend,
Oh, let me tell you about the adventure I’ve embarked on! We always loved sharing our stories, didn’t we? Picture this – it was just another sunny day in Spencerville, and I, Gordon – the most elegant and dashing Beagle you’ve ever known, decided it was high time to gather the gang for a grand frolic in Greyhound Grove. Cede, Lexi, Abby, Emma, and Quincy were all wagging their tails in excitement as we set off to enjoy the sunshine and share a good snuffle.
Now, I know what you must be thinking – why were we causing such a stir? Well, there was a pesky little bandit in town who’d been creating chaos and mayhem recently. A cheeky squirrel, who’d been tattling on all the pets in Spencerville! And you know me – I could never resist a good challenge. Our noble Spencer himself entrusted this mission to us, and of course, we couldn’t let him down! That squirrel had to answer for the havoc he’d unleashed!
So off we went, sniffing our way through Greyhound Grove, searching for clues that would lead us to our furry mischief-maker. As we traversed the gardens surrounding Corgi Castle, my thoughts wandered back to my family and my favorite sunny spot for dozing away the afternoon. But, being the brave Beagle I am, I shook off those bittersweet memories and pressed on, knowing we’d see each other again someday.
Suddenly, my keen nose detected the faint aroma of almonds – a scent I associated with none other than the squirrel! We raced down to East Pug Palace where we discovered the rascal chittering and taunting us from a precarious branch. Instinctively, Lexi, Cede, and I sprang into action, using our grace and agility to scramble up the tree and surprise the squirrel!
Seeing that his game had been exposed, the squirrel tried to strike a deal with us, offering some plump strawberries in exchange for his freedom. But as you well know, I never cared much for red fruits. Cede, Lexi, and I remained steadfast, apprehending the squirrel by his bushy tail.
With our mission accomplished, we proudly returned to Spencer, who praised our wit, determination, and courage in defending Spencerville. In recognition of our success, he treated us to a scrumptious feast at Ruff-n-Ready. It was a dog’s dream come true! I indulged in chicken and liver, while my friends relished their favorite dishes as well.
After our satisfying meal, we retired to our cozy quarters at the bed and breakfast, where we eagerly recounted our adventure to the other guests. Cuddled up with my pink hedgehog, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the enchanting life I’ve been given here in Spencerville. I long to see you again, with the confidence that my family would be proud of all I’ve accomplished, and the knowledge that my loyalty and bravery have served me well in this magical town.
With love and licks,
Gordon
