Chloe PawWord Story
Hey Mom, u won’t believe wut happened! Me, Abby, Pebbles & Betty went to Brindle Brown Boxer Beach 2nite. Found an ancient creepy book. I read a passage & an evil hound appeared! We faced it & had a showoff. Luckily, our luv & courage scared it away. Now ppl in town ❤️ us! Sleep safe, we got ya! Woof🐾 – The Clodog
Listen to the story here.
Well now, I reckon it was around the time when the winds were howlin’ and Spencerville’s full moon was shinin’ somethin’ fierce that it happened. Chloe and her pals Abby, Pebbles, and Betty were excited ’bout the upcoming shindig at Greyhound Grove. While they prepared to attend, rumors started to stir ’bout strange happenin’s over yonder Brindle Brown Boxer Beach.
Seeing as us folks thought of them as brave and fearless, they decided to take a little journey to Brindle Brown and check out the root of this ruckus. Havin’ fetched tennis balls at The Fetching Deli earlier that mornin’, Chloe was rippin’ with energy to burn and an adventurous gleam in her eye. With tummies full of Bow Wow Burgers, the pack trotted into the moonlit night toward them Boxer Beach mysteries.
As they drew near, the sand felt cold ‘neath their paws, and the waves looked darker’n usual. The sound of the thrashin’ sea, it calmed Chloe some on account of it mufflin’ the eerie wind’s moanin’. Twitching her tail, she squeaked a cherry tomato between her teeth—a gift from the manager at Ruff-n-Ready for bein’ a faithful patron.
The mystery prolly woulda gone unnerved had not Pebbles, who loved to chew a stick on Western Labradoodle Lake’s pier, started diggin’ at the sand thereabouts, unearthing a strange and ancient book. You betcha it was scarred with claw marks, bound in scaley hide, and adorned in an eerie glow. It’s true that the feelin’ of unease settled over them, but their curiosity held more weight. Chloe, her courage never to fade, took charge to decipher the text.
Now ain’t it just like a good horror yarn to include the recitin’ of some cursed and unknowable words? Chloe read aloud a passage from the book as them winds picked up anew. I swear if she hadn’t been so caught up in the moment, she might’ve been wise to the possibil’ty that the recitation of the supernatural verse might just come with some consequence.
Goin’ against her instinct, Chloe finished the reciting as a bone-chillin’ howl echoed from the forest edge. Hairs stood on end as an otherworldly, ghastly hound made its presence known. Its fur was the color of night and its eyes as red as the ripest cherries—the very ones Chloe savored on that now fateful evenin’. The beast plowed its way down the beach, a fearsome air surroundin’ it.
I must confess, it takes somethin’ special to stand tall against a terror from beyond, but Chloe, along with her Abby, Pebbles, and Betty, stared straight into the eyes of that fiend. Bound together by love and friendship, they faced the cold-hearted creature with all their might. The red-eyed monster snarled fiercely, but the glimmer of courage in Chloe’s eyes made it falter—for just a moment—then the courageous dog lunged at the monstrous hound.
With a yelp of surprise, the otherworldly beast turned tail and fled, leavin’ Chloe and her friends victorious on that darken beach. No one knows where the unnamed demon found its way, but the townsfolk of Spencerville speak of Chloe’s bravery to this day.
In the years since, every time a full moon shines over Brindle Brown Boxer Beach, the story of Chloe’s confrontation with the beast is whispered in the wind. And so, we, the folks of Spencerville, sure do sleep soundly knowin’ we got one heck of a sentinel watchin’ over us. And let me tell ya, there just ain’t anything quite like a tale of fear, courage, and hope to bring a town together.
The End.
