Vincent PawWord Story
Hey Mom & Dad đŸ,
Turns out, Spencerville isn’t that bad – plenty of treats, soft couches and no more ear cleaning! Mealtimes are fun, I’ve even started liking fish-shaped biscuits. Met a Saint Bernard here named Princess Victoria, who’s kinda become my cuddle buddy. Still miss the park and our car rides. Watching the sunset here, I could really tell, this isn’t Earth, but it’s quite comfy and easier. Just remember, wherever the journey takes me, I carry your love in my heart.

P.S: Found a dental bone at The Barkery, still your boy’s favorite treat…minus the mess. Love ya, and don’t worry about me. I’m okay.
There I was, in the heart of Spencerville, an enchanting little place where our dear Vincent, a majestic, black and white Newfoundland, had made his abode post his life on Earth. His grandeur was striking even here, almost daunting the other souls that be, but his gentle demeanor soon washed away any apprehensions. Life in Spencerville was near perfect, mirroring the human world minus its miseries. And I, a long-time friend, had paid him a visit to relive our past adventures.
Strolling down Collie canyon, we found ourselves at The Barkery, a reputable restaurant hereabouts. Fetching himself a dental bone, which he held dearer than a gold nugget in a miner’s pan, Vincent looked as content as a hermit in solitude. Now, the lad had a particular disdain for seafood, mainly stemming from his severe allergy, but a fish-shaped biscuit caught his fancy now and then.
After a satisfactory meal, we wandered towards The Doggy Depot. You could tell from his walking gait, steady and deliberate, the sheer disdain he had for shopping. But, bless his heart, he indulged my frequent shopping sprees, charmed the shopkeepers with his calm and friendly demeanor, patiently waiting until I was done.
Later that day, lounging on a soft couch that replaced his earthly favorite, he played with his pickle toy filled with treats. His life was no bed of roses, yet he found joy in simple pleasures. His antics reminded me of the old days, when he would sneak into the cupboard, scattering pasta and flour across the floorâoddly, never eating them.
We were interrupted by the patter of tiny paws. In came a flurry of fur that went by Princess Victoria, a Saint Bernard and Vincent’s old companion. Their friendship was as rare as a five-leaf cloverâ two rescued souls finding comfort in each other.
Despite the infinite warmth of this place, our Vincent harbored a dislike for the Dalmatian Desert and East Bulldog Bay. He told me how he yearned for the simplicity of a park, a backyard, even a car ride. As the orange sun dipped into the horizon, I could see the longing in his eyes to go back to his peaceful walks. But as we sat there, he gently placed his paw on mine, as if to reassure me, and himself, that he was content.
Spencerville wasnât earth, but it was close enough, filled with fur-friends and devoid of his earthly dislikesâ noisy clatter, being alone, biting cold rains, and the pesky ear-cleaning episodes.
The life he now embraced in Spencerville was a sonnet of comfort and serenity. Vincentâs tale is no longer of hardships and struggles, but of second chances and eternal love, reminding us all that grief is but an interlude to a joyous reunion.
The End.
