mugsy PawWord Story
It was another one of those warm, sunny, prime-for-adventure mornings in Pawsburg. I had just stuck my snout through the flap in the fence that led to my favourite place in the world, Upper Collie Canyon, when there in the distance I saw the spunky silhouette of Bandit.
“Hey, Mugsy!” he barked in that sprightly voice of his, his tail wagging as if on beats to an unheard song, “late for our morning roughhousing, aren’t you?”
I was about to answer when suddenly a dust cloud camouflaged everything and from the blur, with a sensational entry as always, popped out Minnie Pearl. Her eyes twinkling with the secrets of mischief planned for the day.
The day was shaping up just as exciting as any Pawsburg night, and we had just started. Bandit, Minnie, and I were making our way towards the Chow Hound Café for a quick snack when, would you believe it, from the corner of my eye, I spotted it.
The dreaded device — the one that roars like a rabid raccoon, threatening to slurp the very life out of us. Yep, it was the Vacuum.
“The Vacuum! Run for your lives!” I howled, pointing with my paw towards its malevolent existence and broke into a mad trophy run, my limbs flailing me forward with more might than measure towards Fur Tacos. I heard Bandit groan but Minnie just giggled in the usual belle-like manner.
Later as I walked into the Pampered Pooch Salon for a bit of a scrub-a-dub-dub session, the tall, feathered tail of Darling, the salon diva, wagged towards me. “Ears today, Mugsy?” she inquired, her smirk hiding a jibe at my known dislike for ear cleaning sessions. This time I bit the bullet and just went along for the ride.
Walking back, my stomach began to growl in anticipation. The finest spots for a chow down in Pawsburg are undoubtedly Fur Tacos, Pooched Potatoes, and Chow Hound Café, but today it had to be Pooched Potatoes for their delicious ground beef delicacy!
And as I rounded the day with a gnarly chew on my favourite cow hoof toy, snuggling in close to my friends, contentment washed over me. Another day in Pawsburg had ended and it was time for us all to sneak back to our unsuspecting human companions, our bellies full, coats gleaming and hearts happy.
Oh, what a life! Being a dog in Pawsburg ain’t half bad, I thought falling asleep, a soft, comforting murmur in my heart whispering tales of all the fun I would have tomorrow.
Hey Mum! Grt day at Pawsburg. Morning R&R w Bandit, Minnie popped in from no-where! On way to Chow Hound n BOOM, Spotd Vacu, Zoomies 2 Fur Tacos.
