Closing act? Pup-Tastic Pizza and a serving of Paws-a-latte’s lip-smacking burger. 🍔 All travels end at home, right? Back through the portal to home sweet home, burger in mouth, living the time-traveler life. 🏠

Picture if you will, another jolly Monday in Pawsburgh, beloved haven of pets when humans are not about. Last night, when old Jason and young Melissa bid goodnight, off I roamed to my rendezvous with the mystical Dog-Time-Travel Portal that stands in the gloriously familiar confines of my backyard.

I tread past the Woof and Whisker Wellness Center, paused for a quick groom at the Dapper Dog Salon, and sniffed longingly at my favourite Fetch! Toys and Treats range. Would you blame a stout, brindle-coated lad like me for succumbing to a shred or two of indulgence? No, I didn’t think you would.

Collie Canyon was grand this morning, with the sun glistening on the dew-laden grass. A bit of horseplay with Nephew Timber under its vast expanse and off I went. Next stop, Black Bulldog Bay. Salt in the air and sand between my fat toes. Ah! A dig here and a dig there, until your claws are worn out and your tongue lolls down for a lick of the refreshing bay water.

My regular jaunt takes me to the Golden Gate Gardens, where flowers bloom in every season and greenery for as far as the eyes can see. Oh, were there a creature more fortunate than me! Stopping for a moment of solitude, for even jesters need a second of silence, I can’t help but envy the drudgery free lives of the common folk of Pawsburgh. Now, don’t get me wrong. Time-travel is exciting business. Paws forward, ticking off place after place, ears flapping to the rhythm of varied eras. It’s like salsa dancing for your senses.

“But glory and honor are in your sanctuary; strength and beauty exude from your breathtaking edifice,” Grandpa Jerry once said. He’s a wise chap, often muttering tall tales of the town council meetings at Pupsicle Palace.

Today’s adventure ends in the realm of epicurean delight. A wag of a tail to Pitt and a salute to his grill and I’ve scored the best burger from Pup-Tastic Pizza of course. Oh, Paws-A-Latte, your wafts allure every stomach within sniffing distance and I am no exception. My stern St. Bernard’s facial markings soften as I revel in the unconditional love of a meat-burger.

Alas, all adventures must end, for even time-traveling Boxers like me crave the warmth of familiar hearth. Back I plod through the mystical portal to my extraordinarily ordinary backyard, looking every bit the gallant knight of old, save for the half-eaten burger dangling from my maw.

’Tis the life of brave and ever-so-hungry Oreo, always at the heart of Pawsburgh’s shenanigans, always in every heart. Now, where did I leave that stuffed toy of mine?
