Mr. Truck PawWord Story
“Hey Mom-Dad, Itโs Truckie ๐พ. Had a wild night! ๐ Explored the town with friends, even braved the rain โ (ugh) for a raid on Corgi Castle (rumored treat stash! ๐). No worries, I still hate beer ๐บ & going to dog parks ๐๏ธ. Home now, resting up for another night of Pawsburgh shenanigans. Missed you! Oh, and as always, no ear cleanings! ๐ Woofs n’ wags, Stinky Bum”
It was another night in Pawsburgh, the city that never sleeps – at least not anytime the humans were awake or looking, and as I, Mr. Truck, the English Bulldog with a charm only a slight underbite could afford, trotted through the meandering ally of the Canine Couture Clothing to reach The Howling Husky Hardware Store, my deflated basketball dangling from my mouth still tasted like victory.
After a grueling game of tug-of-war with Big Albert at the Siberian Summit and a hearty meal at Bone Appetit that comprised everything but beer – a taste I had never found appealing, I was ready for some adventure. I could see Sister Sadie, Baker, Ridley, and an always hilarious Loki honing their sniffing skills at the North Chihuahua Castle, while Nugget watched over, supervising like the boss he thought he was. I sniggered at Nugget’s pompous demeanor, my underbite making it look like my usual cheerful grin.
I was known for my brave heart around Pawsburgh, and today was another day to prove it. My tan and white coat shimmered under the Pawsburgh city lights as I made my way towards my companions at the castle. There was something rather intriguing about that castle; it always seemed perfect for an adventure.
Once all the hi’s and wagging of tails were exchanged, together we embarked on our journey towards Corgi Castle, our destination for the night’s adventure. The castle was rumored to have a hidden stash of treats, all courtesy of Pooched Potatoes, the most sought-after restaurant in Pawsburgh. A whiff of their food could leave any dog in Pawsburgh droolingโif there was one thing that could lure Mr. Truck into a castle, it was food.
As we neared the castle, the dark sky suddenly punctuated with a few droplets of rain. Oh, how I loathed rain. It was as if a group of dedicated villains conspired against my love for sun-bathed naps and dry cozy spots. Just when I was about to turn around and head back, Loki made a dash towards the castle. And you know what they say, when Loki jumps, you comply.
We spent the rest of the night rummaging through the castle, our paws slipping on the rain-soaked floor, our barks echoing in the castle’s halls – my friends howling in unison and Loki, as expected, provided the comedy relief.
By the time we returned, and as the first rays of dawn pierced through the clouds, I understood something – rainy days maybe my kryptonite, ear cleanings a frightful ordeal and dog parks not my thing, but there lay my true joy – in the companionship of my friends, in our shared ruckus and adventures. And so it was that the fearless English bulldog called Mr. Truck was becoming a bit wiser. As I lay down in the comfort of my usual sunny spot in my human’s garden, I was ready to rest until the next night when, after the humans would sleep, the city of Pawsburgh would beckon once again.
The End.
