You could find me there, perched atop the Shepherd Skyline, surveying the bustling activity of Pawsburgh from a dignified eminence. You see? That’s me, the English Bulldog, Nelson, with the kaleidoscope eyes and the charisma of a Broadway star.

Life in Pawsburgh wasn’t ruff per se. That is if you didn’t count being chased by a bevy of tail-wagging bachelorettes, vying for a place in my heart as ‘ruff.’ Such was my reality, my very own ‘Pet Bachelor.’

The sun was sending those lazy afternoon rays through the groves of Greyhound Grove when it happened. My buddies Zach and Christine hooked me up with this rather suave piece of kibble from Paws On The Grill. Beef, you ask? But of course, gourmet, ground, and tender.

The cityscape of Pawsburgh melted away into the evening glow, with aroma wafting out from Bark Burgers, while I faced a line of hopeful canine faces. The city seemed suddenly ablaze with the fervor of this reality stroke ‘pet drama.’ One might say it was my very own doggie sitcom.

“Remember Nelson, charm them with your personality, not the Beef Wellington,” Zach whisper-barked into my ear, his usual advice as we walked into the chaos that Pawsburgh had become. Through ‘Fetch! Toys and Treats’ a pair of frayed shoes caught my eye, igniting a primal instinct to make them mine, but duty calls first, to sort among the rouge-nosed suitors.

As the evening wore on, a pug named Patty with a reticence unusual for a dog caught my eye. She sat apart from the throng, her tail wagging in a slow-paced rhythm, looking about as excited as a dog stuck in a bath with no treat in sight. I pushed away from my eager audience and plodded towards her, the doubt of the impending bath-woes lingering in my mind, nothing a tray of Pup-Tizers couldn’t fix, I hoped.

A day in the life of Nelson was never ‘routine.’ From facing the trials of the Pooch Playhouse to the courtship dramas of Pet Bachelor, it was always ‘happening.’ Like a particularly riveting sitcom, my days were fraught with love, laughter, adventure, and a churning narrative of good old doggie drama.

And at the end of it all, unbathed, tired, under the joyous whirl of Pawsburgh’s nighttime, I wondered if Patty, with her soft eyes and unique aloofness, would join me in my escapades. Yes, a day in life with Nelson was never dull, it was bright, vibrant and constantly moving, like the blue and brown of my eyes. Nelson’s eyes could see a pet’s tale that’s everything but ordinary.

Shoutout 2 Zach+Christine for the epic treat they got me from ‘Paws On The Grill.’ Yeah, Beef Wellington. Gourmet beef! 😍🤤 Wish they were here 2 share it (just kidding, more for me😉)

Facing a sea of hopeful doggie faces, with Bark Burgers throwing scents in the air, I’ve caught my very own love interest – a reserved Pug named Patty.🐾 Let’s see how that pans out!
