Vincent PawWord Story
“Hey Mom & Dad, it’s your Bear Cub, Vincent. Had an amazing day full of adventure! Took a detour from my usual spots and took sis, Victoria, to Western Labradoodle Lake! Got a bit messy from the rain and pasta-filled kitchens along the way… LOL. Realized today was no ordinary walk in the park but a journey into becoming an awesome Spencerville legend. Felt brave, majestic, and handsome. Tail’s still wagging from the thrill. Sending lick-kisses. – Buddha, Baby xoxo”
It had been a long-winded day when I decided to take a detour from my usual happenings of Spencerville. Being a 170-pound Newfoundland – it’s not every day one gets to give feet to his adventurous spirit. Nestled upon the idea inside my gigantic cranium, I imagined myself ruling the vast waters of the Western Labradoodle Lake. Did I mention, the beach and the desert were a far cry for me and the lake seemed much of a welcoming change?
As I squashed the fluttering curiosity within, I reminded myself of the odd rulebook of this beautiful town. Despite the mixed patches of black and white fur settling upon my existence, it was impossible to resist my behemoth stature and striking majesty.
With Princess Victoria, my Saint Bernard sister, by my side, and thoughts of my prized pickle toy filled with treats lingering in my being, we set our paws upon the journey. The wind bathed my freckled fur and all at once, excitement intertwined with calmness overwhelmed us. We were on a road trip, away from our usual pastime in our humble couch and the repetitive park wanders.
Past the familiar sights of the Bark Burgers and the Doggy Depot, as we took a swift turn into the Fawn Cream Maltese Meadow, I felt it. A momentary flash of rebellion against my allergies. The whiff of scatter flour and pasta from kitchens diffused into the wilderness of the meadow, playing like a melody into my senses. Yet, I moved past the enticing aroma with my eyes set on the first destination – the lake.
We reached the Western Labradoodle Lake, twinkling under the gleaming sun, and it was an opening pandemonium of freedom. There were no loud noises that upset me here. It was serene, a totally different experience from the couch. My tail began to express itself, wagging energetically. This trip wasn’t just another walk in the park; this felt like I was crafting my own legend in Spencerville.
However careful the road trip had been sketched within my persona, it had its quirks and challenges. I didn’t anticipate the rain, which I detested. I also didn’t ponder over the forthcoming solitude of the journey. But one look at Victoria, her loyalty radiating, and my stubborn streak kicked in.
From the lake to the Brindle Brown Boxer Beach and every open space in between and around, we etched our journey, dodging the farm for our dislike. The taste of the town was shifting flavors, slowly growing into a dish I savored.
This road trip wasn’t simply a journey—it was my journey to morphing into the handsome, majestic, intelligent, and brave Vincent that I was meant to be, into an endearing legend that echoed all around Spencerville. In a grand realization, it struck me. The world around me, Spencerville itself, was changing, one paw print at a time, encouraged by the tale of my own making.
The End.
