Hey Mom n Dad, Goosey here. You know, Spencerville might seem quiet, but Sprinkles and I certainly stirred things up. After a fill-up at The Canine Cafe (my swagger still turning heads), we were off to solve the mystery of the Dalmatian Desert howls. Setbacks aside (damn that bike bell), we found a lost pup, the source of the howls. All was well in the end—we comforted him and brought him home. Now, if only every day could be like this: food (minus broccoli of course), adventure, and endless camaraderie. Tail wags, Goosey🐾.

You wouldn’t believe today’s happenings in Spencerville, quaint for sure, but not without its fair share of chaos. First things first, hello there, I am Lucy, one half of the notorious Spencerville fluffy detective duo. They call us the “Barking Badass Brigade,” and there’s nary a case unsolved when Sprinkles and I get on the scent.

Ah, Sprinkles. My brother. Like stripes on a zebra, that one—impossible not to notice, even if you tried. Our bond? Iron-clad, weathering through hours of relentless tug-of-war, the high-pitched whines of neighborhood children, and even the dreaded ‘B-word’: broccoli. As a note, cross my path with a broccoli stalk, and you’ll be sentenced to eternal play-with-the-stick game; a grueling and unending chore, I assure you!

Anyway, Spencerville isn’t just (tug-of) war and broccoli, we’re spoiled with delights. The charm of the Golden Retriever River, the sun-infused sands of Red Beagle Beach, the endless allure of treats (I’m talking chicken, my friend, the coup de grâce of delights!) from Doggy Donuts and K9 Kebabs, all knotting together to form our utopia.

The day unfolded, like most, with a needed visit to The Canine Cafe. Sprinkles left drool puddles with his huffing at the pastry display, and I engaged in some absolute necessities, namely strutting my tan-and-white coat across the café floor. I’m not one to boast, but my entrances have been likened to a royal procession on occasion.

Stomachs filled, we set off to work on their latest assignment—a case of mysterious hollers echoing through the Dalmatian Desert. Ears perked up, we made our way, the mystery tickling my intellectual palette. Sure, we had minor setbacks—a preposterously loud bike bell had me on edge, while Sprinkles momentarily lost it at the sight of new digging territory. Professionalism, right?

Nevertheless, we made it to the desert. With fur bristling against the chilly wind, we ventured deeper into the vast, spotted landscape. After a couple of false starts and a series of Herculean sneezes from all the dust (Sprinkles, not me, clearly), we stumbled upon a sad, sullen pup. Desolate and blue, lost in the wilderness, it was his howls which had alarmed the city folk.

Well, make a note, dear reader. No animal goes unheard, feels lost, or stays scared in our watch. With a gentle nuzzle and reassurances, the pup bounced back, showing gratitude by wagging his tail. And just like that, case closed.

Back at Spencerville, sipping a well-deserved mug of Chicken Broth, I reflected. Today had it all: Food, adventure, danger, mystery, lore, and companionship. As the city’s very own fluffy detectives, Sprinkles and I had our work cut out for us. But, it’s worth it. Today, tomorrow, and maybe the day after tomorrow too, beneath the Spencerville sun, we’d continue to chase tails, solve mysteries, and dwell in this puppy paradise.

And, hey, at least there was no broccoli!
