Ace PawWord Story
“Hey Mama,
Ace here, checking in from Spencerville – it’s quite the dog’s paradise, let me tell ya! Sun is always shining and there are magnificent places to explore. Been on a mission to find the best food, wound up at Bow Wow Bistro. Chef’s got a mean pork chop and he knows how to do peanut butter! Not everything’s perfect though – someone had the idea to open Canine Couture Clothing? I mean, seriously?
My afternoons are laid back strolling around Maltese Meadow and hanging out with Daisy at Wagging Tail Bookstore. She gives me squeaky toys, bless her heart! Nights are pretty neat too, I meet fellow dog-kins at Bark Burgers, then head home to good ol’ Caffrey.
Life’s a wagging tail here. And when you’re done living up your adventures and ready to trade them for some filled with fur, know we’ll have a warm spot ready for you. But for now, live, laugh and throw a ball or two!
Tail wags and wet-nose nudges,
Ace”
Let me tell you a tale, about my jaunts and adventures in Spencerville, the place every weary pet goes after the old ticker stops. Now as you know, I ain’t no ordinary dog, I’m Ace, and my massive Labrador yellow coat doesn’t let anybody forget that.
Spencerville, well it ain’t no dystopia like the world we left behind, here the sun shines bright and the sky paints pretty hues of dawn and twilight. S’pose time stands still but I ain’t complaining, just means more adventures in em’ magical sites right here – Shepherd Skyline, Maltese Meadow, and Upper Collie Canyon. Mighty fine places I tell ya!
I’m on a life’s mission, the quest for the finest food ever known to dog-kind. Perhaps it was that passion that led me to the doors of Bow Wow Bistro. The scents were arresting, the pork chops, the scrumptious cheese, and wait for it, the peanut butter spread. A man after my own heart, that cook!
Not all things in heaven go down well though. They’ve got this confounded place they call Canine Couture Clothing. Now you tell me, whatever imbecile thought it sensible to dress up fine dog-kin? I’d rather be doused in water, and believe me, that’s saying something.
Afternoons usually drift me into the bosom of Maltese Meadow, the greenery soothing to the bones, the scents a siren’s call to adventure. I’d sniff about and then make for the Wagging Tail Bookstore. Of course, I can’t read, but Daisy, the sweetheart who runs it, she’d take one look at me and say, “Ace, you look like a squeaky-toy kinda guy.” And she’d toss me one or two of ’em.
Nights in Spencerville, boy they are something. I go to Bark Burgers, where I’d meet all kinds. Then I head home, where awaits Caffrey. He’s a strange little critter, always got some shenanigan cooking, but fair’s fair, he does make home feel like home.
Waitin’ to be reunited ain’t hard as the yarns they spin say it out to be. There’s always something to chase, always something to chew, always someone to ruffle your fur just right. As far as I reckon, the humans need us more. They should step off their high horse and quit moping. And I reckon, when they join us here in all their ragged glory, we’ll show em’ a thing or two about living.
The End.
