Gus PawWord Story
Hey Ma πΎ,
Had a classic day! Got an Oatmeal Cream Pie π₯§ at Fetching Deli. Work at Tail Wagger’s had me come across another odd Beanbone π§Έ. Went to watch the lake ποΈ at lunch, refused Poodle Pond π«πββοΈ. Vacuum attacked, showed it who’s boss π vs πͺοΈ and hang at Waggle n Wok π. Night views of Spencerville π from my fort π°. Life’s like a Beanbone puzzle, trying to figure out where the pieces fit π§©. Wink! π
Oh, and still, say no to watermelons π.
– Gus Gus βοΈπΆ
Every golden morning, when the first ray touches the roof of South Siberian Summit, Gus, the ebullient English Bulldog of Spencerville, throws open his front door, his tan front legs with their white toes contrasting dramatically with the rustic charm of his wooden doorstep. With a ruff-rumbled, “Another day, another Beanbone to conquer,” he heads off to his favorite place, The Fetching Deli.
“Hey, Gus!” Barkley, the Terrier, greets from behind the deli counter. “Fancy some Oatmeal Cream Pie before the tour start?”
“Who do you think you’re talking to, Barkley?” Gus replies with a wag of his stubby tail and a playful grin. The deli fills with canine laughter as Barkley hands out Gus’s guilty pleasure. The day begins with a tale-telling tone.
Gusβs office is as eclectic as his personality, filled with an array of ‘Beanbone’ toys and an assortment of cardboard boxes. Diligently, he inspects each piece of delivery that comes into the The Tail Wagger’s Tailor, ensuring that they scream fun more than function. “In Spencerville, fun is serious business,” he woofs to the camera.
At lunchtime, Gus insists on dining al fresco, proclaiming, “The Fetching Deli ain’t got nothing on our Spencerville lake view.” He’s right, of course. The tranquil lake never fails to soothe him. Yet, when offered a dip in the South Poodle Pond, he whines dramatically, “Undignified, no self-respecting Bulldog ought to be seen in that puddle.”
After a walk around the lake, it’s back to work. Summoned by a high-pitched yelp, a regular scene unfolds. Gus, being Gus, takes on the vacuum cleaner with an overload of barks and slightly tremulous courage. “I’ve got this covered guys, fear not my friends,” he reassures the uncertain masses.
Evenings are a sight to behold as Gus interacts with his select dog-friends, at Waggle n’ Wok. Suspiciously eyeing any laid-back adults around – “Too serious, not enough fetch,” he grumbles to the camera, but his tail ever wagging, betraying his joyous nature.
As the day gradually succumbs to the night, Gus retreats to his haven. A comfortable cardboard box fortress at the summit, looking over the twinkling Spencerville. Sitting there he muses, “Life’s a puzzle, just like a Beanbone toy, I’m just trying to figure out which piece fits where.” He turns to the camera, smiles, and adds with a wink, “And remember, no watermelons, please.”
The End.
