Sampson PawWord Story
Hey! It’s Big Sammy, reporting from my adventures in Spencerville. Mixed it up with the locals, made some new pals (say hi to Fat Russell), and even did my foodie tour at Bow Wow Bistro—those Chicken-Vanilla cookies, yum! Did dodge a few grimaces – ear cleaning, vacuums, and cats, yuck! But ya know, every day here has its scent of home, reminding me of you. Anyway, gotta rush, the gang’s waiting for a play date at Boxer Beach. Keep my slobbery ball safe, okay? Will be back after chasing one too many rainbows. 😉 Woofs and wags, Sammy.
Call me Sampson, rugged bulldog, born champion, with a distinguishing brindle latch on my ear — a badge of honor in the idyllic land we call Spencerville. If you can believe it, I’ve rubbed noses with every creature that trods on four legs here, from Upper Black Bulldog Bay to Lower Golden Gate Gardens. My tale could be compared to that of our favorite beast fables, only with a twist and a good shake like I would to a buoyant basketball deflating under my mighty jaws.
Ah, mine is a life painted with broad strokes of simplicity and color splashes of joy. Like the child ogling his gumball, I never venture far without my trusty companions – a slobbery tennis ball and a battle-hardened stuffed animal. You see, they are the Hamlet and Horatio to my Claudius – the never-ending source of merriment in my peculiar life.
The famed Bow Wow Bistro knows the stories of my culinary conquests. When I enter, all sniffed trails cement fond memories of Chicken and Vanilla cookies, my Achilles’ heel send shivering delight through my senses. But, crikey, don’t offer me pretzels and bananas. It’s like asking my dear Rosa to dance the waltz – not to her liking.
Equally, mention ear cleaning, the local dastardly vet or that tormenting liquid sunshine, and you’d see me transform into a statue of aversion. Ah, Loneliness and I never see snout to eye either, and it’s a well-known fact that vacuums and cats share the uncoveted throne of my dislikes.
My circle of trust keeps me in high spirits. My treasured companions – Fat Russell the English bulldog, Fenway my bulldog brother, and Marley, the amiable pug. We converge at Boxer Beach to roughhouse near the lapping waves, dart about in uncomplicated ecstasy and share hilarious anecdotes of our exploits and, oh, the car rides, are another chapter in itself.
But you see, this tale of mine has a mysterious allure, that while the sweet aroma of my earthly owner lingers in my heart, in Spencerville, that sorrow is but a minor distraction. Our hearts are filled in anticipation of a reunion, knowing that one day, we shall find ourselves joyfully lost in their loving countenance again.
With all tales, even mine has an end. For all Spencerville’s charm, it remains a passage, a memory to be held close until we cross the canine rainbow. So, dear reader, here’s Sampson, hopeful endurer, waiting for the day he gets to see his owner again. Until then, camaraderie, decadent treats, playful afternoons and treasured friends keep the hearth of happiness aflame.
The End.
