Bentley PawWord Story
“Hey Dad, Bubs here! Let me share a tail-wagging tale. Me and Fat Russell launched ‘The Bark Rockers’! Faced some barky roads when Patsy left us (love-struck, can you believe?), but we took a leap and held auditions at a ‘Pet School Musical’! Gustav, our new drummer, is pawsome! We rocked our first gig under moonlight by Labradoodle Lake. The Bow Wow Burgers were the perfect end to this woofy day. Spencerville rocks, literally and otherwise. Paws and love, Bubba š¾”
You know, I gotta hand it to this town of Spencerville. It’s quite the doggie paradise. Just the other day, I was walking down to Bow Wow Burgers, my paws itching for a taste of their Drooly, Double Decker Doggie Deluxe when I ran into my old buddy Fat Russell.
“Hey, Bentley!” he greets. “You’re looking robust today!” Fat Russell always did have a way with words.
“Why, thank you Fat Russell! And looking quite round today yourself,” I replied giving him a friendly nudge with my snout.
Now, I am no thespian, but I gotta tell you something.
Ever thought of bulldogs in a musical band?. Sounds whacky, right? Well, here in Spencerville, it’s the real deal. Me and Fat Russell, we formed an all-dog band, ‘The Bark Rockers.’
Me, I got the vocals – ain’t no ambiguity about that. And listen, just because I don’t do swimming doesn’t mean I lack rhythm. Once I’m in the groove, be it chasing my Jolly Ball or hitting those high musical notes, I am unstoppable.
But here’s where the plot thickens. Just after a couple of howling good jam sessions, we stumbled upon a hiccup.
Our drummer – a French Bulldog named Patsy, decided to opt-out. Now you would wonder, “Why would Patsy ever do that?” Well, you won’t believe me if I told you, but she left us for a Poodle she met at Spa for Paws during her weekly grooming session. Sheesh! Priorities, am I right?
Anyway, Fat Russell, quick as a whip, had an idea. He proposed we organize a āPet School Musicalā! We decided to throw auditions for a new drummer while giving Spencerville the musical soiree it deserved.
The day of outdoor auditions at Retriever River finally arrived. The canines came, they howled, and some even played. It truly was a sight to behold. After moments of laughter, we finally discovered a diamond in the rough, a Labrador named Gustav. Boy, could he make those drums sing!
The night of the Musical was nothing short of magical. The moon cast a silver glow on Western Labradoodle Lake, and we were the stars of the evening at The Bark Shak. Barks and howls filled the night as we belted out our tunes. I took a moment and surveyed the scene – my friends, our music, our town…and I thought, dog gone it life’s good in Spencerville!
And then it was off to the Bow Wow Burgers to celebrate our impeccable performance, and of course, my drooly, Double Decker Doggie Deluxe awaited me. Ahh! The perfect end to an adventurous day in the paw-tacular life of me, Bentley!
The End.
