Turbo PawWord Story
“Hey Mom, just another wild night in Pawsburgh with the gang. Ate scrumptious grub at Pawsome Pancakes and took care of a ruckus at the Groom Room. Almost lost focus when I found an Orange baby toy. But reminder, I’m your brave little T, a knight in furry armor. Just hoping no ‘bath time’ awaits me after this adventure. Love, your Cottonpicker.”
Cracking open an eye, I saw the clock blink ‘1:27 am’. Somewhat late night, I thought with a chuckle. Pushing off the cedar floor of my doghouse, I shot a glance at my light gray wavy mane reflecting in the full moonlight. With a swift wiggle of excitement, I rolled off my hindquarters. It was time to go to work.
The glow of Pawsburgh greeted me ahead as I arrived with a merry gang, Squirt, Sissy, Willie, and I. Like every night, it was our job to keep the peace, run the place, and squeeze in some fun. My name’s Turbo, and I ain’t your average Gray terrier.
Exiting Westie Woods, the wind picked up, carrying with it the smell of cheese, baby carrots, and… Pizza crust? My mouth watered as we hit the Bullmastiff Boardwalk, trotting towards the mouthwatering cuisine. Somewhere beyond the aroma, the sign of Pawsome Pancakes glowed. Ah, behold the joy of first duty! Refueling!
Emerging from Pooched Potatoes, our bellies full, we sauntered towards Whiskers and Wings. Suddenly, we heard a furious barking. “Woof, woof! Furry thieves in the Groom Room!” hellhound, the local gossip monger, cried out. Whodunit? I wondered. Not that mutt Cake from Roverville? Not on my watch.
Cavorting through the streets of Pawsburgh, Supersonic Terrier on the move, no one could outrun me. Not even those wily city dogs. A flash of laughter escaped me as I thought of the bustling city life I so despised. My heart belonged here, amidst the lush green of the untamed woods, the tranquility of Beagle Beach, and the adrenaline pumping action of the underworld motorcycle club of Pawsburgh.
I admit it. I ain’t one for chew toys and tug of war. Y’see, I was raised in the school of hard knocks. My human? She taught me to be brave, tough, independent. There was only one thing she hadn’t prepared me for, I thought with a sigh. Bath time. Just the thought of it made the fur on my back stand.
My monologue was interrupted as I smelled something. An unfamiliar scent, something suspicious. Within seconds, an Orange baby! My favorite toy! But, this wasn’t the time for frolics. This was a case that needed sniffing out. It’s gonna be a long night, folks. But fret not, for Turbo’s here! Welcome to the Pawsburgh Chronicles. As ol’ Pratchett would say, ‘The road to heaven is paved with… pawprints’.
The End.
