Chloe PawWord Story
“Hey Mom, just a normal sunny day in Spencerville. Other pups are at Shitzu Stadium but, as always, I’m playing time-hop Sherlock, poking at chicken pie from the 18th century and inspecting alchemists scrolls. Some days I’m a pirate, others a futuristic dog or even a knight. Almost choked on a 60’s burger today – yuck! Love, The Clodog 😋🐶”
It was a fine sunny morning, and the air was filled with the laughter of dogs. Such a city of merriment and camaraderie it was, this Spencerville. You see, companionship was a currency here. Poodles cavorted at the Shitzu Stadium while Labradors swam freely at Labradoodle Lake. The Bark Burgers restaurant was all abuzz, with dogs recalling tales of balls retrieved from the oddest places.
Ah, and then there was Chloe, a Boston Terrier of considerable character and an attitude to boot. An odd one, that Chloe, less interested in cat-chasing than the mysteries of the universe. When all others were wolfing down bones at Bark Burgers, Chloe could be found perched on a sunlit rock near Collie Canyon, her eyes scrutinizing the azure horizon as if expecting it to do a flip.
Her canine cohorts, Abby and Pebbles, would often gather around, hoping to unravel the mysteries behind her solitude. But Chloe, oh she was a one-dog wolfpack, preferring her chase against time to doggie playdates. She often trained her sharp eyes on the little knick-knacks she’d gather from her intercontinental travels, mementos from different eras, acting as clues for our canine Sherlock Holmes.
Chicken pie from 18th century France, a dinobot from the 40th century, an alchemist’s scroll from 5th century China…you name it, and our traveler terrier would have it, each item with a tale as fascinating and exhausting as time itself.
Being a time-hopper has its paradoxes, you see, and Chloe relished in them quite splendidly. Some days she’d be a pirate pup, others a futuristic android dog, or even a medieval knight of the Round Table, you could never know which Chloe it was going to be. Once, she even dared to nibble on a retro burger from the 60s, I can still recall her horrified expression when she realized it was actually horsemeat.
Yet, in all her pursuits, she remained true to her roots, her heart always finding its way back to Spencerville. Because remember, dear reader, not all who wander are lost, and certainly not our time-traveling Chloe!
The End.
