Baxter PawWord Story
“Dog day in Pawsburg: Butted heads with Broccoli Oak, sun-basked at Red Beagle Beach, wagged tail at Bark Burgers. Took a pass on the new mechanic car toy at Doggy Depot, mom’s driving suits me better! Curling up at Chihuahua Castle now, missing you till my tail wags again. Another adventure awaits! Night, – Little Man.”
I woke up this morning on the wrong side of the dog bed as I often do when Mom’s not around. Pawsburg — the dreamworld where I trod off to while Mom’s away — greeted me with its usual, colorful self. Chihuahua Castle, my cemented residency, was empty without her.
Stepping off into daylight; I could smell the tantalizing aroma of Bark Burgers. My tail turned rogue, wagging erratically. Oh, the bacon-topped delicacy. But, hey, there’s a time for food and a time for play. I chose the latter, like the adventurous Chihuahua I am.
Strutting down Bullmastiff Boardwalk, Baxter — that’s me — was in high spirits. This one-eyed spectacle was ready for some action. Dear reader, if you’ve ever seen an invincible, one-eyed Chihuahua, you’d know what I’m talking about. Till you’ve seen terror of vacuum cleaners through my eyes, you’d never grasp the meandering mysteries of Pawsburg.
We’re not done yet! It was time to hit Red Beagle Beach, favorite amongst us folks. My plushie lamb chop and I, under the tranquil canopy of an umbrella, away from the water. Ah! Sun treatment, that’s the joyous part of the wild west of pets we live in.
Moseying to Pup-Tizers, I stumbled upon an old Oak tree, notorious amongst us for its evil broccoli strength. “No Broccolis! Huh!” I growled in dismay, expressing my disdain to the birds above. An inside joke, you see. Funny, right?
With the soothing sunset and the smell of Pupperoni Pizza wafting from a distance, the day was nearing its conclusion. A quick visit to The Doggy Depot was all that remained.
“Hey Baxter, look what we got in stock?” Howled the shopkeeper. It was a mechanical toy, a car, one that you could ride around town. Now, car rides are something I love indeed, but they’re better when leaving the driving to mom, not some witchy chunk of metal.
And with a satisfying day ending on a strange note, I curled up at Chihuahua Castle, carrying my plushie lamb chop close, wondering when mom would be back. As the moon watched over Pawsburg, the lights dimmed in the artificial town of pampered pooches. Life in Pawsburg was as unpredictable as my fickle tail, but one thing was for sure; I wouldn’t be swimming anytime soon. Another day awaits, another adventure. Goodnight, Pawsburg!
The End.
