Vincent PawWord Story
Hey Mom and Dad, Spencerville’s oddly comforting, still miss you loads. Made buddies with the locals and Victoria’s always by my side. Had fish at The Bark Shak today, stirred up all sorts of feels. Each day’s about finding some joy while waiting for that big reunion. Woof out for now, from your Teddy Bear.
Today is a strange day, even for Spencerville, this supposedly serene landscape where we, the departed pets, get to frolic until one day we’d reunite with those we had left behind. Life here, or rather death, has a peculiar shade of sweetness.
That’s me, Vincent, the unusual Newfoundland. My eyes might tell tales of sadness longing for my human, but there’s a silent joy here, knowing one day we will meet in some distant paradise. As I stroll towards the Cream Maltese Meadow, my sister, Princess Victoria follows closely, a kindred spirit in this ghostly town. We share the same roots, sprouting from heartache towards resilience.
This afternoon, I stop by our favorite joint, The Bark Shak where the heavenly smell of fish and biscuits waft through the air. That fish, reminds me of home, makes me miss my human even more, and I, the stubborn yet gentle soul, allow the familiar scent to fill me. Notwithstanding my allergies, the temptation to delight my palate with this aquatic treat is irresistible.
Strolling away from the tantalizing scents, I notice the bustling canine life of Spencerville. The Northern Choco Chihuahua Castle peaks in the distance, a playhouse for the smaller breeds while us bigger guys prefer the grasslands of Retriever River.
Scrolling by The Howling Husky Hardware Store, I roll my eyes, knowing how they secretly wish I’d break into a bag of pasta there, like I used to back home. Yet, I was not in the mood for my mischievous streak, today I was feeling homesick.
As night falls, I loathe to stroll home alone. Princess Victoria, always sensing my disquiet, walks beside me, our tails brushing, a silent pledge of companionship. I do miss my human, of course, but at this moment, I’m grateful for Victoria, who is more than just a companion in this surreal existence.
We return to my couch, nestled under the stars in the heart of Spencerville. It’s just another day in this seemingly eternal wait. My eyes glint with the reflection of the moonlight, a shine that mirrors my optimism for that day of reunion.
Before I settle in, I offer my nightly prayer, whispered to the silent Spencerville winds, “May I dream again of my human, may his face fill my dreams, give me strength to wait patiently for our reunion.”
With that, I lay my head, the gentle giant of Spencerville, Vincent was asleep. Tomorrow is another day in death, yet, strangely enough, it feels like life. A life eternal, everlasting – until my human and I once again cross paths in the swirl of eternity.
The End.
