Russ PawWord Story
“Hey fam, just chillin’ with Russ at the Boardwalk. We had a laugh-a-thon over meatballs at Waggle n’ Wok. Shared some heart-to-hearts, tail wags, and dog day outs from Poodle Pond to the Wellness Center. Spencerville is our circus now! PS: Applesauce’s still scary; pigeons are not golf balls. Woofs, hugs, and nose boops till we meet again. -Fasty”
I find myself lounging at Bullmastiff Boardwalk, my cherished sanctuary, relishing the scene and the sense of peace when I heard this familiar baritone bark. A stentorian resounding decibel only one dog can match – yeah, it’s Russ.
That Bulldog! An affable fella he is, with his droopy jowls and a thoughtful gaze concealing the energy of a toddler on sugar rush. Russ, the dog who had his heart set on a plastic golf ball, the gourmet of meatballs, and who thinks the delivery guy is more ominous than a vacuum cleaner. “Jim!” he hollered, his tail wagging, “Let’s have a dog-day-out.”
Off we go dragging ourselves at the Waggle n’ Wok. Russ’s snout twitching, sniffing the air, his tail wagging with the mere thought of meatballs. I, on the other hand, had a refined hunger. “Russ, it’s high time you learn to appreciate the art of fine dining. The Sashimi here is to die for,” I tried reasoning but was met with a skeptic frown and a lot more tail wagging.
From South Poodle Pond to the Woof and Whisker Wellness Center, our adventure marches on! Rus had a heart full of vigor and curiosity that kept him lively while I, a bit more refined, found joy in the serene environments.
Our diverging personalities made for quite the uproarious adventures. Russ, in all his Bulldog glory, with a fear of applesauce and bath time, always kept things exciting. His unexpected shenanigans are something quite unmatched, like the time he once confused a pigeon for a plastic golf ball. Haven’t laughed that hard since the day he mistook the dog-park for a giant sandbox.
Our town, Spencerville, had blossomed into a comedic saga of our canine whims and frolics. Of course, we missed our humans, but until we meet them again in another world, we had our dog’s life to live, love, and laugh about in this friendly haven.
They say dogs can’t fall in love per se like their two-legged beings, but boy, did we subvert that cliché! Shared experiences and mutual respect, the mirth and comedy of life, were the bridge that brought us together. And the differences that initially repelled us eventually made our bond stronger, because in Spencerville, every day is a carnival, and no love story mirrors ours. And until the day our owners reunite with us, Russ and I are living it one meatball, one sashimi, and one dog bark at a time. So, here’s to Spencerville, to Russ and me, for being in love and hurling comedic obstacles at us.
And so, we live, a Bulldog and a Westie, in our nearly perfect town, making the best of our merry afterlives, creating what you might call a Dogmantic Comedy. The end, or should I say, to be continued?
The End.
