PawWord Story
Hey mate! Met a feisty Rottie, started out rough but love crept in. Took her out, swapped chicken stew for green beansš²! Now, we’re an item. All loveās squeaky bones worth it, even makes beans bearable. Rufus still Chasing tail, Daisy’s tail wagging as usual. Life’s barking mad & lovely! Woof! – Nero š¾
So there we were, me – Nero, the jet-black German Shepherd, brave and unflinchingly loyal, Rufus – the mischievous Beagle, always looking for some ‘tail’ to chase, and Daisy – the sweet Labrador, whose innocent charm was as infectious as her ever-wagging tail. We’ve had our share of scrapes, but this… this was different. It was, dare I say it, love.
I mean, we’d all heard of the flashy Poodle Pond and the alluring Cream Maltese Meadow. But here in the heart of Pawsburg, love was as elusive as a squeaky rubber bone on a slippery wooden floor. It wasn’t until I met Valentina, a roguish rogue of a Rottweiler with bouncing curls and a feisty temperament, that this old dog learned some new tricks. Her owners ran Canine Couture Clothing, and boy, did she know how to dress!
Valentina had a bone to pick with me from day one. I, being the delicate canine soul, preferred the simple pleasures of life ā a bouncing red ball, savory chicken stew and Jack’s warm pats ā while she reveled in glitz and glamour, from the Bow Wow Burgers to her sparkling dog collar.
Oh, I still remember our first official ‘date’.
“Let’s go to Bow Wow Burgers,” I said, wagging my tail with anticipation.
“Bow Wow Burgers? That is so mainstream,” she retorted, rolling her eyes, a perfect diva. “Isnāt there any place with more… panache?”
So I did as any lovesick dog would. I took her to The Barkery, a high-end joint known for its healthy options, passing over my chicken stew for those dreaded green beans. Trust me, I was as shocked as you are. Me, Nero, eating green beans! But love makes you do strange things, my friends.
As we finished our meal, Valentina turned towards me and said, āYou know, for a dog whoās scared of a squeaky rubber bone, this wasnāt so bad.ā
In that moment, despite the taste of green beans still lingering on my tongue, I knew we were more than just two dogs on a date. We were, as Jack would say ‘an item.’ I, the simple German shepherd, and she, the feisty rottweiler, together.
Oh, the stories we made, my friends! From sneaking around the Westie Woods, to our photo shoots at Best in Show. About all the mishaps, adventures and goofy moments, we laughed at it all. Because love is not about finding the perfect mate, no sir. It’s about finding someone who makes every squeaky bone worth wrestling, every chicken stew better and yes, even the beans less green.
The End.
