Every dog’s night is a day in Pawsburg – a canine Elysium where the mills of dream and reality grind together. Stillness of night is seldom so in our arcadia. I, Fergus, carry my merry ways, chaperoned by the lopsided ear and Nutty, the warrior squirrel who journey by my side.

Our adventure commences as the hues of twilight nuzzle the chimney tops of Hammondsport. This red brick fortress of mine disappears into the rear, as Pawsburg unfurls ahead, cloaked in starlight and camaraderie. It’s an escapade that requires cunning stealth, darting eyes, and ideally, an inexplicably loud stomp to alarm Bella and Rags of my impending departure.

Pawsburg, my bonny land of yonder, lies beyond the tulips and through the white-washed iron gate. There’s Boxer Beach, a paradise for salty dogs, then the manicured symphony of Lower Golden Gate Gardens, and even the arid stretches of the Yellow Tan Dalmatian Desert. Yet, my destination tonight is the luscious tail, wagging with culinary delights at Doggy Delight.

Beneath the sparkling sky, we wander through the bustling lanes. The aroma of the venison wafts through the streets, a tantalizing dialect of ‘Pawsburgian’. It tempts many, but I steadfastly snub, for the steak is the language my palate adores. Fetch! Toys and Treats is another spectacle in itself, yet no trinket there quite matches the allure of my loyal Nutty.

Despite the festive spirit, the insidious puddle at the garden’s crest, glistening with moonlight, obstructs my trail. Here, my traditional breed breaks away, eluding that water body, safeguarding my floppy ears, like a knight would his armor. A scoff and a clever step, and with my friends in tow, we cross into the land of banquets.

‘More steak, sir Fergus?’, echoes through Doggy Delight. I wag in agreement before Nutty wins another mock skirmish underneath the cherry wood tables. I feel Bella’s playful prod and Rags’s infectious giggles reverberating through the wooden chestnut floorboards. Together, we form a hounds’ triumvirate of jest and junket, holding court amidst the gastronomic grandeur.

Even the clamor of Pup-Peroni fades away as I, Fergus, lord it over this land of endless adventures. From the soft glow of morning brushing the cerulean sky, I ascertain that our time here shortens. But there remains a feast to dominate, friends to cherish, and Nutty to conquer. So, we revel until we drift back into our human homes, carrying echoes of Pawsburg in our doggy hearts, hidden away until another twilight calls.
