Sammy PawWord Story
“Hey ma, just another day in treat-filled Spencerville! Kicked off with Kong & Fur Tacos, chased an enigmatic PB scent into White Westie Woods, found the source was a treat left by Bulldog Bay Bouncer. Now I’m the victorious, peanut butter-faced king of town. Love from your Adventurous, SammyDoodleBug.”
I woke up in the usual mixed feeling of excitement and… well, since we’re all friends here let’s just say, a little pee (Don’t look at me like that, you’d pee too if you realized you were in Spencerville!). I shook off the light sprinkling of sand from the yesterday’s El Canaro escapade and the faint smell of Bark Burgers still clinging to my coat.
The first order of the day was heading over to Fur Tacos, and wouldn’t you have it, just as I had this epiphany, there sat my Kong toy by my side, smirking. Right, Kong first, Fur Tacos.. oh hell, let’s not kid ourselves, still first.
Speaking of epiphanies, I had been itchy for an adventure lately. I mean Sammy-style adventure – none of that couch surfing binge-watching stuff Roxy does (I swear, if she curls up to another ‘Meowflix marathon’, I might go ‘batshitcrazy_8’, pun absolutely intended). Nah. I was itching for the old school, wind in the fur, bugs up the nose kind of adventure. I mean, Spencerville is great, but there’s an entire Bulldog Bay out there, begging to be explored.
Thrusting all ninety-odd pounds of myself into the daylight, I was hit by that unmistakable scent – peanut butter. Now we’re cooking! Roxy, bless her squirrel-chasing heart, must’ve left a Fort Paws peanut butter cup around. We’re sibling-goals like that.
I couldn’t find it, but the smell seemed to grow stronger, wafting in from Eastern White Westie Woods. I took off, dust flying around my paws, leaving the familiar landmarks of Spencerville behind, chasing the tantalizing scent of PB. I felt like those protagonists in human movies, embarking on an epic quest – peanut butter was my Holy Grail, heck, my Excalibur even!
I bravely forged my way through tangles and underbrush. I swear, at one point I chased my own tail. Have you ever had times like that, following a dream, not realizing it’s been within you all along?
Breathless but determined, my noble quest eventually led me to it – the source of the peanut buttery scent. It was a peanut-butter cream pie, sat casually by the edge of the woods next to a signpost. On it was written, with what I could only guess was the handwriting of a Golden Retriever – “To the bravest, most adventurous dog in Spencerville, enjoy your treat!”
Well, I definitely felt brave and plastered a victorious smirk matching my Kong toy on my face. It was then that I recognized the handwriting; it was none other than the infamous Bulldog Bay Bouncer’s! I swear I could see that dopey grin from here.
I may have been mistaken, but I swear the wind whispered my name just then. My quest was complete. I was victorious. Peanut butter smeared across my face, I began my journey home, the undisputed king of Spencerville and a tummy full of peanut- buttery goodness.
So, there you have it folks, adventures in Spencerville – they’re nutty, filled with butter and outright Sammy-tastic! Thanks for taking this trip with me, amigos. Until next time, woof and out.
The End.
