Curley PawWord Story
“Morning sun soak, typical vacuum beast chase, wild run at Collie Canyon, slam dunked racquetball at Siberian, steak belly-full from K9 Kebabs and pillar-to-post at Chihuahua Castle. Finished with a FaceTime chew with Puddlez. Long story short – rocked Spencerville like a boss. Paw are tired, tail happy. Woof-night. – Curley”
The day never really starts in this perfect pet town of Spencerville until I’ve taken my morning bow to the Sun God. There I was, sitting snuggly with the last rays of morning light bathing my thick double-layered coat. The purity in it…turned my grey-black exterior into hues of the flaming sun. This has become my morning routine, my rendezvous with the sun, as I basked in the serenity that our dear Spencerville offered.
I’ve always loved the daytime. The empty house is a horror to me, especially when you’re a small-town celebrity like me, voted the most adorable (with a side of rambunctious) Keeshond in Spencerville.
This perfect morning was briefly interrupted by the terrifying hum of the vacuum and I bolted from my sun-soaked spot. Why the humans made such a noisy contraption, was beyond me. It drove me into a frantic frenzy until I was courageously escorted by my human companion to the safety of our backyard.
Quickly recovering from the ordeal, I headed out for my first adventure of the day at Collie Canyon. The feel of the earth beneath my paws, the smell of the wild, weaving past my playful friends, what more could you ask for? I could spend my whole day experiencing the Canyon’s rugged trails. Freedom never tasted as wild as this.
The afternoon was spent on high alert at a gruelling racquetball game over at Siberian Summit. Try as they might, none of the elite pups could match my speed or skill. There’s no better place to show off my tactical expertise. The game ended with my victorious wag, tails followed me, their envy apparent.
Evenings were protected for the purest form of adoration – food. Not just any food, but the sumptuous delicacies Spencerville’s restaurants laid out for us. A little dance, a little prance, and moments later, I’d be served my luscious steak at K9 Kebabs. Their juicy tenderness had the power to make one’s eyes glow. The aftermath was to hurry home to beat the loneliness of the empty house.
Before the moon bathed Spencerville in pearly light. I made my last round at Chihuahua Castle. As the big guy around there, it was my duty to ensure that everything was in order.
Ending my intriguing day at the doggy heaven, there was one last ritual to follow, a touching FaceTime with my dear sibling Puddlez, still living in another time zone. We’d yap and bark about our day’s adventure, sign off with a bark, promising to meet, sometime in the blessed Spencerville, the town we loved and lived in so dearly, waiting and knowing we’d reunite again one day. With that heartwarming conversation, your favorite town dog, Curley, signed off to a new dawn.
The End.
