Maggie PawWord Story
“Hey Mom, living the dream here in Spencerville! Start my day saying hi to the sunrise, then sniffing out the BBQ joint & even tolerating a veggie or two. Nights are for spinning tales with the gang at the park or the Canine Cafe. Every day’s a new adventure, just waiting for you to join me. Love, Mags.”
Well now, you ain’t never met a proper hound until you’ve had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of our own Mr. Tucker. A dog of considerable spirit and action, Tucker’s a beagle known far and wide over in Spencerville. Ain’t a scent crosses that town but that Tucker’s got his nose sniffing after it.
Early each day, as sure as the rooster crows, Tucker wakes up with the sunrise, yawns a mighty yawn, and then heads out for his morning patrol. He scrabbles down to the Golden Retriever River, sending a cheerful bark echoing across the water, as if to say, “Hello morning, Tucker is here!” Now that riverside walk of his is pure art, taking in the sights and scents with an air of a dignified gentleman.
That Tucker, he’s got an adventurous spirit where food concerns play the distinguished part. ‘Tis the Dog-gone Good BBQ you see, where he’s mighty fond of the ham and chicken. Now, the Fetching Deli and Waggle n’ Wok are equally professed in their culinary skills, but a plate of chicken and ham, well, that’s a story for another day. On the rarest I’ve seen, Tucker voluntarily partake of serving of vegetables, it’s as though he carried the world’s burden on his li’l shoulders.
When the day is done and the stars coming out all bright and sparkley, Tucker loves to make a beeline for the old park. The other pets and he have stories to share, legends and tales to weave. Each one a testament to the joy of being in Spencerville, each one a tribute to a day well-lived.
Visit the Canine Cafe and Spa for Paws, and you hear old Tucker’s tales wafting over the babble. They speak of Tucker’s wit, his plucky nature, and his fun-loving sociability. His toys, the trusty worn-out tennis ball and the ever-squeaky rubber duck, they ain’t just toys but crime-solving buddies. Each new day, y’see, is a mystery waiting to be smelled out in the grand town of Spencerville.
Upon a perch by Black Bulldog Bay, my friend Tucker likes to gaze over the calm, wondering what treats tomorrow might bring. Seeing him sit there against the setting sun, a pet knowing his place in the world, you feel truly blessed. And there ain’t a doubt about it, Tucker’s heart is full of love, full of joy, and there ain’t no dog that’s more full of character, than Tucker, the beagle of Spencerville.
And Tucker, he waits patiently for his own folks to join him one day, knowing they’d find their way to this near-perfect ol’ town. As it is, we got a saying here, ”In Spencerville, every dog has his day, and then several more.” And as for Tucker, he’s got an eternity of them, wild and free. Welcome to Spencerville, folks, where pets chummily bide their time till their folks come home.
The End.
