Reo PawWord Story
“Chillin’ in Spencerville, curled up with my magic bunny for some time-traveling fun. Got a belly laugh out of leash-walking a T-Rex, and nearly freaked at Pooch Salon’s tornado of brushes. Just visited when Spencerville was an idea and soon we’ll dine in a floating kitchen! Trust me, it’s never dull in our corner of time and space. – Baby boy”
There I was, sitting on the couch in Pup-Peroni, savoring a scoop of vanilla ice cream, sprinkled with bits of crinkly snacks that encouraged tiny shivers of delight to prance about my taste buds. The setting sun swathed Spencerville in a harmonizing lullaby of soft hues, the warm glow casting playful shadows on the vibrant buildings. From the corner booth, I glanced out of the window at the lively scene — Paco, looking ridiculously like me, frolicking about at Spotted Red Beagle Beach while Colonel and Angel schemed a canines-and-feline-only game of tug of war by the Pug Palace.
But all these ordinary occurrences were not the only spices in my peculiarly piquant life. My bunny toy — you should know — is not your run-of-the-mill, stuffing-filled plaything. No sir! It’s a time-traveling device. That’s right! A device that has allowed me, Reo, to traverse blips and bloops of time and space, adding an exciting twist to my otherwise comfortable existence in Spencerville.
During these little time-hopping escapades, we’d sometimes check out the town’s past or peep into its future. On one of such trips, I remember deciding to leash-walk T-Rex, a story that never failed to inspire a chuckle or two during our gatherings at The Pawfect Training Center. Another time, we scooted to the future, where I found myself enrolled as a student at The Pampered Pooch Salon, confronting a tornado of five different brushes, a couple of hair trollies, and a sassy pink palette showcasing diverse ribbons for chihuahuas.
Time-traveling was an activity that required constant vigilance, and with my watchful eyes and alert ears, I was well suited for the job. “All work and no play” was a mantra that never resonated with my thought process anyway.
One day, we trooped back to when Spencerville was just visualized — the birthplace of our haven — Spotted Red Beagle Beach was all pebble and no sand, and Pup-Peroni was just an idea, rumbling in the mind of a food connoisseur.
Another day, over a campfire at Western Husky Hill, we journeyed to the future where we eat out at a Spencerville restaurant floating in the clouds, aptly named Pup-Tastic Cloud Kitchen.
Jasper, Daisy, and Paco were always there, ensuing every adventure was tinged with laughter and camaraderie.
Yes, Spencerville has been more than just a place for me. It’s home. It’s family. It’s time and space, dotted with the twinkling possibilities of what was, is, and what could be. And, trust me, inquisitive reader, tucked into the folds of the seemingly ordinary, my journey, yours, ours, is everything but that, don’t you think?
The End.
