Wally Bear PawWord Story
Hey, it’s yours truly, Wally Bear! In a nutshell, saved our beloved Pawsburg from a total strawberry apocalypse by turning the town’s fancy for strawberries back to good ol’ beefy burgers. Remember, even when life throws you strawberries when you’re expecting burgers, it’s your doggy determination that counts. Carry on waggin’, pals! – The Beefy Hero, Wally Bear.
Well, folks, listen up! Let me regale you with a little tale about how Wally Bear, that adorably lumpy English Bulldog of ours, saved Pawsburg from its cheesiest catastrophe yet.
After an exhaustive round of fetch at Collie Canyon, Wally waddled his way to East Bulldog Bay. The salty sea air wafted over him and his rumbling belly reminded him of the sacred pilgrimage to his absolute heaven on earth – Bark Burgers. Ah, Bark Burgers, where the magic happened, especially for carnivores like Wally.
But as we approached The Bark Shak, horror of horrors, instead of the mouth-watering aroma of grilling beef patties, the air was riddled with a sweet, tangy smell. Peering into the restaurant, our worst fears were realized. Bark Burgers was now… The Cat’s Meow Sushi!
“You’ve got to be kidding!” My chunky little partner voiced the sentiment with a melodramatic flop onto the sidewalk.
It seemed that Furry Friends Art Gallery’s newest exhibit had inspired the restaurant owner. ‘Straw-Berry Swoon’, they called it – everything in Pawsburg had to have a strawberry twist. Now, to some, it might seem like a paradise, but not to ol’ Wally. To him, it was the canine equivalent of Armageddon.
Being the seat-clencher that she’s known to be, Emily tried to soften the blow, “Maybe… maybe this strawberry thing isn’t that bad, Wal?” Wally shot her the iconic side eye; beefy burgers were his life.
A sudden buzz of excitement from Western Fawn Pug Palace stirred us. Out jogged Mayor Pugwell announcing The Strawberry Festival, complete with strawberry sushi.
“I’ve got to do something about this.” Wally seethed, slightly dough-a-fied face set in a bulldog version of determination.
Infiltrating Furry Friends Art Gallery that night, he set his plan into action. Using his trusty tennis ball as a diversion, Wally distracted the gallery guard – a moody Siamese cat we all knew too well.
Then, in classic Wally style, he went Picasso on that unsightly strawberry portrait. Armed with oils and brushes from Howling Husky Hardware Store, he transformed the fruity abomination into a mouthwatering beef burger, reigning with utmost magnificence on the canvas.
The next morning, ‘Beefy Blessing’ was the talk of Pawsburg. Looking at Wally’s triumphant face, I smiled, “And that, folks, is how a chunky English Bulldog saved our little Pawsburg from the strawberry apocalypse.”
Upon resuming its usual menu, the entire town rejoiced, Bark Burgers never saw such a rush before, and Wally? Well, he finally got his burger. But more than that, he showed us that even in the face of adversity, especially one that smelled suspiciously of strawberries, it’s our grit that decides our tail-wagging or tail-between-the-legs fate.
The End.
