Paloma PawWord Story
Hey Mom, it’s Toots! Been gallivanting across time and space with my buddies in Pawsburg today. We hoofed it back to the roaring twenties – right up my alley but a bit too jazzy for my taste. Managed to secretly snack, frolic, and even squeezed in a clumsy fox-trot dance move. Now just laying under the Pawsburg stars, enjoying the peace and quiet. It’s quite the dog’s life, isn’t it? Signing off now, time for another round of dreaming. Catch you later!
– Toots (Paloma)
Hmm, so, you want to know what your feisty little bulldog gets up to in Pawsburg, eh? Well, prepare yourself – you’re not going to believe it. It all starts when my eyes are closed and I’m in my deepest of slumbers. One moment I’m dozing in the backyard, and the next I’m strolling down the lanes of Boxer Beach. Ha! You’re baffled, aren’t you? So was I.
Today began like any other for me, dear reader. I awoke to Mal, the rooster next door’s crying. It was time to dart off to Pawsburg, to enjoy the town’s yuletide festivity at the Southern Golden Retriever River. My friends Guinness, Natty, and Kahlua were waiting for me in Pawsburg. Kahlua, always the daredevil, suggested we should travel back and make merry in the roaring twenties.
“Remember, it’s a secret,” said Natty, aware of the town’s unspoken rule: Time travel on a full stomach only. So, off we trotted to our favorite eatery, Dog-gone Good BBQ. One plate of chicken, and I was ready to embark on our adventure.
Time travel? Nothing special, just a thing we pets do when you’re not looking. It’s just like going for a walk: a quick stretch of the legs suffices, only, instead of winding up at Boxer Beach, we end up somewhere like…Ancient Rome. Today’s destination, though, was the flamboyant 1920s.
We were magically transported into an era of Jitterbugs and high-kicking Charlestons, it was music to my ears. Alright, if we’re being honest, it was more like a noisy vacuum cleaner to me, but for the sake of the story—well, you get my point.
Do remember, I fancy quiet spots, but for today, the crowded dance halls were bearable. The vibrant energy of the dancers was infectious. I couldn’t help but attempt a clumsy fox-trot, amusing all. Before we knew it, moonlight had replaced the daylight, and it was time to bid the 1920s goodbye.
When we reappeared in Pawsburg, it was dinnertime. Exhausted, we made our way to Kibble Cuisine. I found a leaf of spinach trying to camouflage itself in my meal. I flicked it away disdainfully and attacked my chicken heartedly.
As I lay under the clear sky at Boxer Beach afterward, I contemplated my improbable day. Footloose in the flamboyant twenties, gorging on my favorite food, and now lying under the luminous Pawsburg sky, cherished friends by my side – it was absolute paradise.
From Pawsburg, with love,
Paloma.
The End.
