Stella PawWord Story
Hey Dad! So, in a nutshell, I’m basically the Mayor of Spencerville, a town filled with cuddly K9 companions. I sign paw-tographs instead of documents, give out belly rubs instead of speeches, and even have my own office seat to take afternoon siestas! Life’s ruff when you’re this popular. Tail wags and slobbery kisses, your little Stells.
Let me tell you about our little town of Spencerville, where the inaugural balls come with rubberized chewies and power is paw-sitive. And the center of it all, our chief and tail-in-command, Stella!
“Ruff day at the office, huh?” I jabbed, as Stella lazily draped over the generously cushioned chair that overlooked the great domain of her Bulldog Bay. Stella shot me her signature look, a half-hearted grumble under that squashed, brindle face.
“Now now, don’t take it out on me, lady” I grinned, watching her reluctantly stretch to greet the sun’s kiss, “you, my friend, are the First Lady of Spencerville” I chuckled, picturing her decreeing elaborate napping laws, “and, this sandwich-delivering job is quite a big perk, so perk up!”
Presenting her favorite, a juicy hamburger from the famous Chow Hound Café – sophisticated doggie dining at its finest. I received a look of appreciation from her brown eyes before they fastened onto the meal.
Seeing Stella in such commanding stature always made me chuckle. How could this tiny frame carry such an enormous persona? Sure, she could swing speeches…if those were translated from extensive snores and timely barks at the mention of ears being cleaned. But boy, could she charm the leashes off the whole cabinet with just a single ear flop.
Meetings often convened at the Red Beagle Beach, with the old sun shimmering off the water and warm sand under our paws. Not that Stella carried out anything that resembled formal discussions. Instead, she lavishly animated with her actions, chasing her favorite St. Louis blues stuffed bone across the sandy expanse – diplomacy bulldog style!
Every night around closing time, Stella would make her rounds, shifting from the Woof and Whisker Wellness Center to The Doggie Daycare, solemnly supervising like a watchful protector. Passing on her wisdom from Pup-Cakes to Bark ‘n’ Roll. Her nightly patrol, ridding the city of loneliness, before finally trudging back to the bed that sits atop Lower Silver Siberian Summit.
Despite the loner vibe she projects, Stella was a part of this Spencerville pack. Yes, she was fiercely loyal. Because in this fur-filled democracy, it’s all about loyalty, companionship, and a little bit of that bulldog stubbornness.
That was life here in Spencerville, where English Bulldogs ran barks of legislation, and each day ended with a dose of warm, pet-filled affection reminding us, we’re all waiting for someone, and what better way to wait than in a happiness filled community rolled into one fur-fect town.
The End.
