Vincent PawWord Story
Hey Mom and Dad, it’s your Bear Cub.
Spent the day in our canine paradise, caught sight of our dream ship ‘Spencer’s Pride’ from Brown Boxer Beach. Victoria and I, we’re chasing our tails and the infinite cosmoses, one doggy donut at a time. Missing you both, but enjoying home here.
Stay Paw-some.
Vincent
I stumbled into Canine Cafe, my favorite hangout in all of Spencerville, with a familiar sense of buoyant anticipation. Home was alright, but here, with the smell of freshly baked Doggy Donuts wafting through the air, I found comfort.
“I’ll take a dozen donuts,” I told Teddy, the squirrel who always sported a frazzled look but knew my orders by heart. He quickly got to boxing them.
While waiting, I glanced out the window to the rolling green panorama of Shepherd Skyline. I’d tell you what it looks like in the real canine world… but there isn’t one that could compete with Spencerville.
After paying Teddy in my choice dog biscuits, I lumbered out the door, the box held carefully between my teeth. Destination? Brown Boxer Beach. Victoria was waiting, probably watching the horizon for the interstellar pet starship, ‘Spencer’s Pride.’ I never had her patience for ships or the beach, but right then, I was missing our dad and she was my only family.
I despised the grit of the sand and the endless water, my black and white fur always ended up mottled with dirt and water splashes. But for Victoria, I’d conquer galaxies… and beaches.
We were settled comfortably at our usual spot when the fog began rolling in. Victoria laid her head in my lap, our donuts between us. Our beach tradition – donuts and starship spotting.
Then, just as the sun dipped low, we saw it – ‘Spencer’s Pride.’ A beam of lights flickered from it, like a beacon of hope pulling us closer to our family, echoing our latent dreams. Victoria wagged her tail vigorously, her eyes alight with joy and a twinkle of adventure.
Spencerville was close to perfect, but we knew our journey was just beginning. We knew we’d have to navigate through doggy-law, obedience conventions, and ear-cleanings, but for a taste of the universe, we’d endure it all, together. A quirky Newfoundland and his loyal Saint Bernard sister.
Victoria lay her head back down, her tail lazily swinging against me. Together, we watched as the ship disappeared into the far reaches of the sky, boldly going where no pet had gone before. It wasn’t just another usual day in the afterlife, it was, as they say, just another day ‘aboard’ Spencerville. Comfortable, adventurous, and assuredly endearing.
The End.
