Lucy PawWord Story
Hey there, mom! It’s Lulu here. Just letting you know I had quite the adventure in Spencerville today. I’m officially the queen of squirrels, brushed up on my sniff-interaction skills at lunch, braved a sudden rainstorm (so rude!), and topped it all off with our favorite car ride. Oh, and don’t worry about the dessert, I still haven’t warmed up to apples. Ha! Keep shining bright, just like me. Catch you on the bark side. Love, Lucy.
Okay, brace yourself! You are officially in “Lucy-sville”, the heart of magical Spencerville where every pet is the star of their own uplifting blockbuster. And in a place as picturesque as this, there’s only one canine who could possibly have tales (or should I say, tails) worthy of your precious time. Yep, it’s our very own Lucy, the English bulldoofus, I mean Bulldog.
Today Lucy was galumphing around the Western Labradoodle Lake, her coat shiny like new snow after a mom-approved roll at The Pampered Pooch Salon. The sun made the lake shimmer while Lucy galloped along the shore, the wind gusting through her snowy coat, like a scene straight out of a doggy shampoo commercial.
“Oh, Lex.” Lucy addressed her old friend Lex, the Spencerville squirrel lounging on a nearby pine, “What do you have that I don’t, huh? Those fancy little acorns? Or just the freedom to climb trees all day while I’m leashed up down here?”
Lex twitched his fluffy tail nonchalantly, “Lucy, darling, a lady always needs a secret or two.”
“Cute, Lex,” Lucy snorted and continued her blissful trot.
Never one to ignore a culinary delight, her trot turned into a sprint when she sniffed lunch wafting through the air from Doggy Delight. Her daredevil heart beat faster as she thought of the millions (okay, maybe six) dogs waiting in line. But being Lucy, she took it head-on, “Bah, a little social sniff-teraction never hurt anyone.”
Her favorite part of lunch though was dessert at Fishy Bites- their specialty trout ice cream bowl ‘hooked her heart’, every single time. Green beans came as the surprising cherry on top. Apples, though, eww. Just no.
Then the horror of horrors happened. Yes, it started raining. Ugh! On a glorious day like this? Really, cloud gods? “Rude,” Lucy groaned. The beautiful snow-white English bulldog looked absolutely crestfallen.
“I mean, if I wanted to get drenched, I’d go swimming at Black Bulldog Bay,” she grumbled to herself.
But the beauty of Spencerville is that every cloud has a silver lining. Quite literally, in Lucy’s case. Bella, her human companion, stood at the door, preparing for their favorite adventure; a car ride.
Lucy’s heart soared. Who cared about rain when you could shove your face out the window of a moving car and soak in absolute freedom?
“Car rides for the win!” Lucy yipped, forgetting about the audacious rain in no time. After all, she was Lucy, the forever young, the life force of Spencerville. Life was too short to worry about getting wet, especially when there’s so much to weave into the legend… Our legend of Spencerville.
The End.
