Bentley PawWord Story
Hey Dad, it’s Bubs. Navigated the cosmos again today. Sniffed out the Spencerville beach, wolfed down grub at Bow Wow Burgers, fetched a mechanical ball at the Pawsome Pet Pharmacy, survived a near swim in the Black Bulldog Bay and moon-bathed in Lower Golden Gate Gardens. Purrs, barks and interstellar travels – all in a day for your space-hopping Bulldog. Missing you, till the stars bring us together again. – Bentley
Rustling my mass of brown fur, covered in cosmic dust, I drag my English Bulldog body out of my ship, the Flying Paws. The atmosphere of Spencerville hits me, its warmth wrapping around me like a comforting blanket. I can’t hold back a wag of my tail as I trot towards the warmth, feeling that familiar surge of joy. Welcome to Spencerville, Bentley, my old boy.
Circling in the sky, around the Spotted Red Beagle Beach are seagulls, their caws harmonizing with the distant gushing of the waves. This beach, my haven, has not lost its charm even after countless visits. It’s hard to miss the affection for this place that courses through my veins. No vast space odysseys can detract from the love for my sand-filled retreat. A day in Spencerville, no matter how typical, is always an adventure waiting to be lived.
Having had my fill of the beach air, it’s time to head to the favored local eateries. Bow Wow Burgers and K9 Kebabs don’t sound like your typical galactic hubs, but in Spencerville, they’re the beating heart of this pet’s paradise. Taking my regular spot in the corner, by the window, a warm greeting is handed down by Stella, the waitress, complimentary dog biscuits thud onto my table. The menu, well, is it even necessary? My selection never changes: pizza and hamburger, a combination only an English Bulldog with an unusual palate would habitually order.
A full stomach calls for some light shopping. The Pawsome Pet Pharmacy and The Howling Husky Hardware Store are fabulous on any given day. As the current reigning “Customer of the Month” at Fetch! Toys and Treats, this mechanical Jolly Ball is a must, an essential companion for rough-play later in the day.
My reluctant walk towards Upper Black Bulldog Bay is already causing my blood to run cold. Swimming, a robust canine joy ride for many, merely sends shivers down my spine. Even today, I repeat the same mantra to myself: Not today, not ever.
Tonight’s stroll brings me back to the Lower Golden Gate Gardens, a perfect ending to the day. Dedicated to the silent contemplation of the moonrise and the eventual reunion with my beloved dad, a loyal human I’m bound to meet again. There’s a special kind of melancholy in these moments of quiet tranquility. The air seems charged with a serene promise of the future, of reuniting with loved ones, waiting in a different star system.
On my journey through the cosmic dust, the aroma of assuring cheeseburgers, the lure of endless tug-of-war games, and the allure of Spencerville remain constant. Assigned as Bentley, the English Bulldog, the pilot of the Flying Paws, and a lifetime resident of Spencerville, it’s an identity I embrace entirely. It’s not a typical day in the life; it’s an extraordinary day in the cosmic sphere, made authentic by the furred stargazer in his favorite paradise.
The End.
