Maya PawWord Story
“Hey fam, it’s Maya, aka your vanilla-dappled Pawsburg adventurer! Just trekked all the way to the Lower Silver Siberian Summit with Bella. Yes, Bella the daring pug. Even traversed the dreaded stream despite my water-phobia. Can you believe it? PS: View is heavenly, but your boolie bulldog girl still misses her squeaky chicken and lemon tree. Tail Wag’n Love – Maya đź’›”
There’s something about Pawsburg at night that just makes a dog want to wag their tail off. Us hounds slip off our leashes, sneak out of our doggie doors and meet in Cream Maltese Meadow under the twinkling canvas of the night sky. I, Maya the vanilla-dappled bulldog, am right in the heart of it. Tonight, my best friend Bella, the witty pug, is in charge of the agenda.
“Maya,” she says, an eyebrow raised, “we’re going to the Lower Silver Siberian Summit to see the sunrise.”
I blink at her, utterly confused. “Bella, come on. That’s at least three tail wags up. And you know I just spritzed my coat at The Groom Room. Plus, are we forgetting my water-phobia? You know there’s that dreaded stream on the way to the Silver Siberian.”
Bella rolls her eyes, “Maya, honestly. Last time, you also chickened out when we were going to Tan Dalmatian Desert! You’re living your life within a barking radius of three blocks.”
I can’t help but glare at Bella but then I chuckle. Her knack for audacious adventures was what made her my partner in this beautiful Pawsburg chaos. “Alright. You win,” I surrender, “Let’s dash!”
So, that’s how Bella and I found ourselves whisking through Pawsburg, bumping into Larry and Rover who were chowing down on Fishy Bites at Bone Appetit. As we cross Woof and Whisker Wellness Center, Bella gets an idea and we make a little detour to Wagging Tail Bookstore. Bella scampers in, snagging a book on doggie acrobatics. “We’ll read it once we reach the Summit, should be fun!” she laughs.
As we start manoeuvring the tricky ascent to the Summit around the stream, I suppress a whimper. But then again, there was a sunrise to chase, a friend to stick with, and a life outside my garden. Maybe there was more to life than a squeaky chicken, a lemon tree, and shared hamburgers?
As we reach the top, the sun just peeking over Pawsburg, Bella winks and passes me a treat, “A little something from Pup-Tastic Pizza!” Peaceful, panting, triumphant, I realise, I’m not just Maya, a bulldog, I’m a Pawsburg adventurer.
So yes, I may not be a fan of water, even a puddle makes me scamper. And sure, I love the lemon tree in my backyard more than anything else. But I’m Maya, a brave English bulldog exploring Pawsburg beyond her backyard, courtesy of my audacious friend, Bella. Welcome to my life, I thought. Welcome to Pawsburg. Truly, it’s a dog’s life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The End.
