Miles Apart, Bound by Love: A Spencervillian Promise: A Diamond PawWord Story
Hey Ma, it’s your lovable giant, Diamond. Spent the day bossing Spencerville – morning grooming, treats at The Fetching Deli, and the usual playful chaos at the desert. Missed you a ton though. Your scarf’s been my cuddle buddy. Love and slobbery kisses, D.
So there I was, having another ordinary day in Spencerville, where the impossible becomes ordinary and the unseen becomes magical. I’m Diamond, just your average English Mastiff, eternally a pup at heart.
On this particular day, I woke up to the usual symphony of purrs, chirps, and a wild mix of barks that echoed across Fawn Pug Palace, crept through the Lower Golden Gate Gardens, and danced around the Yellow Tan Dalmatian Desert. The aroma of fresh, subtly sweet biscuits from Paws On The Grill hung in the air, a constant reminder of the joy that awaited me.
I ambled over to The Groom Room, keeping a safe distance from the water section. The mere thought of bath dampens my spirit. Instead, I preferred a whisk through the brushing section, where fur fluffs into clouds and nails get the final touch.
With a groomer’s treat in my mouth, I strolled towards The Fetching Deli, tastefully situated at the heart of Spencerville. Imagine veggies done in ways your fur-parent never would. Carrot sticks garnished with dollops of deliciousness that your taste buds immediately adopt. I broke my fast with a watermelon slice, munching lazily while brushing my tail against the balmy breeze.
A few enthusiastic chases later, with Taz, Sienna, Gunner and my other siblings at the Yellow Tan Dalmatian Desert, and some beachtime fun, I found myself missing something – or, to be exact, someone.
Detached from the lively barks, the impeccably orchestrated naval-sea-ball warfare, and the familiar scent of my siblings, I buried my nose into my mom’s scarf. The warmth, that unmistakable whiff of love and vanilla pulled at the anchor of my heart. We may be miles apart, but who can limit the bounds of this magical realm? The sole battle scar I carry, they say, is my longing for my mom.
Her smiling face, her tender caresses, her soothing voice – mamma mia! This love beats all the Spencervillian magic. Trust me, I’ve seen a lot around here. But there’s nothing that quite equates to that warm fuzzy feeling of laying head in her lap.
As the Spencervillian sun set on another brilliant day, I curled around her scarf, my heart tracing the uncountable miles that kept us apart. But again, distance is just a state of mind. One day, I thought, I saw her twinkling silhouette, fading in the twilight. Time stopped or maybe, it hurried. We’ll meet again, after all, that’s the promise of Spencerville.
The End.
