Cats, Dogs, and Delightful Revenge: A Pawsburg Tale: A Jackson PawWord Story
Hey human, spent the day playing vigilante in Pawsburg, got ambushed with a pink bandana at Canine Couture. Plotting revenge now. Curling up for the night, sweet dreams… Or maybe not. Jackson, aka the Furry Avenger… 🐕🎾🧣
The day had started off as per the routine. I, Jackson, woke up stretching my brown-white speckled body, basking in the early morning sunlight percolating through my brownstone window and spilling onto my favorite little rug.
I glanced at the clock and could hardly wait for my humans to leave. As their car rolled down the driveway, I promptly scampered down stairs, grabbed his tennis ball — green and a little bit chewed on the sides — and bolted for the Pawsburg portal marked on the old oak tree trunk at the back of our yard. Welcome to another day in Pawsburg.
First stop? Paws on the Grill for my usual breakfast of grilled chicken. I swear you haven’t lived till you’ve tried their special PawsBurger with grilled chicken, hold the lettuce please.
After the hearty meal, I was headed towards Wagging Tail Bookstore when something caught my eye. The Doggy Depot had a new toy collection on display, glimmering balls of colors I could hardly resist. I walked in and quickly spent what felt like half my fortune resulting in a bag full of squeaky new tennis balls.
After a rousing session of fetch at Collie Canyon with Max and Daisy, we headed for lunch at Fur Tacos. Then Daisy suggested paying a visit to Canine Couture Clothing and my heart dropped. Remember my water phobia? Well, coupled with that is an utter repulsion for anything to be worn above my fur. To make matters worse, Daisy had a rather mischievous glint in her eye.
As I tried but failed to make an escape, Daisy and Max cornered me and the next thing I knew, I was adorned in a bright pink bandana with tiny beaded bowties. The embarrassment was palpable. I spent the entire afternoon hiding in Western Fawn Pug Palace.
As night fell over Pawsburg, I fantasized about a suitable revenge. Then, the perfect plan formulated within my small albeit devious mind. Tomorrow, Daisy and Max would learn their lesson. Just imagining the cat and the golden retriever running for their lives ignited a flame of joy within my little heart.
I returned home, curled up in the corner of my human-filled house. Sleep overtaking me, the faint mew of Daisy embedded in my dreams, and a determination to square things up filled me with a strange sense of exhilaration. Pawsburg was in for quite a spectacle. With the bandana still tied around my neck, I mustered a small yet savage growl and fell asleep. Revenge, my dear friends, is a dish best served with a tennis ball.
The End.
