Citrus Ribs and Canine Courage: A Tale of Walter in Pawsburg: A Walter PawWord Story
Hey Dad, your old buddy Walter here, broadcasting live from our beloved Pawsburg! Made a real show today; took on the Yip’n’ Yapp Tangy Citrus Ribs (you know how I despise citrus). Yet, beats sticking to the same ol’ filet mignon from The Fetching Deli. Turns out, change of taste, bit of courage makes an unforgettable combo! Keep an eye on the horizon, there’s more tales from Pawsburg coming. Adventure’s calling, Chunk Monk!
Sometimes, as the sun drowned in the horizon casting long golden shadows, ol’ glassy-eyed Walter and I would saddle up and hop on down to Pawsburg. A sunset town, Pawsburg was our escape. With places like Husky Hill and Western Labradoodle Lake, it painted a landscape more colorful than any human could dream up. Between K9 Kebabs and The Fetching Deli, we ate ‘n’ drank, laughed ‘n’ sighed, and shared stories till the break of dawn.
Walter, the chestnut charmer, was no stranger to the locals. He walked around as though he owned every dusty corner of Pawsburg. I reckon, places like Spa for Paws and The Pooch Playhouse adored the old soul.
One scorcher of a day, as the heat tangled with the sand of the Lower Dalmatian Desert, the tenacious dachshund had his eyes set on an adventure. His trusty yellow duck strapped to the saddle, Walter was ready. He had an appetite for something entirely different that day. Though he could gulp down the filet mignon from The Fetching Deli faster than a streak of lightning, Walter was a dog with a spice for the unpredictable.
Riding ‘round the bend to Sniff ‘n’ Snack, ol’ Walter trotted over to the newest addition on their menu, a plate of Yip’n’ Yapp Tangy Citrus Ribs. He sniffed suspiciously. Let it be known, ‘Sour-face Walter’ had a notorious disdain for anything citrus. On any given day, he’d rather square up with the devil himself than get a whiff of a citrus fruit.
But today, under the Pawsburg sky studded with stars, with the soft lullaby of the night wind blowing, this paradox of a dog decided to give the citrus ribs a go. The first bite had him scrunching his face into an adorable grimace, followed by surprisingly eager chomps at the dish. In his own stubborn way, Walter took on the citrus ribs with a tenacity only he could muster.
That night, riding under the vast star-studded sky, with Dr. Quacker – his beloved rubber duck – squeaking merrily from the saddlebag, and a taste of triumph lingering on his tongue, Walter turned towards me with the biggest, bravest smile ever known to dogs, humans, or Pawsburg itself.
If courage had a flavor, I reckon, it’d taste a lot like Yip’n’ Yapp Tangy Citrus Ribs.
The End.
