Just thought I’d share a snapshot of my day overseeing the canine utopia, Pawsburg! Amidst the chaos of our post-apocalyptic world, every night is a wild ride with Ollie, Pippa, and Stuart- reminiscing zoomies, battling pesky tennis balls & evading baths! Who knew a dog’s world could be this entertaining?

So, here’s the thing about overseeing the rebuilding of society in a post-apocalyptic world – it’s not just humans trying to piece things back together. Yes indeed, in the ruins of our world, even our four-legged companions found themselves trying to carve out a new life.

But, of course, this is Pawsburg, not just any old town. You see, while we humans may have been haggling over cans of baked beans, our dogs were having a bit of a different experience. Come night, when the world stilled, off they snuck to a technicolor wonderland crafted by canines and governed by their rules. Pawsburg – a veritable Utopia for dogs.

Ollie, the spry and feisty Puggle, reigned supreme over this doggie paradise. A purveyor of high-energy antics during the day, he’d slip into a dog with nerves of steel as night fell. He’d journey off to Pawsburg, where pups from all walks of life reveled in fun-filled adventures, from frolicking in the South Poodle Pond to scaling the icy heights of the Lower Silver Siberian Summit.

Now, if you’re imagining a reckless free-for-all, let me assure you, Pawsburg was the furthest thing from it. It boasted the coziest of doggie boutiques, (The Tail Wagger’s Tailor, anyone?) and the most sumptuous eateries. On any given day, you could spot Ollie holed up at The Barkery, his eyes pleading for a delectable slice of chicken parfait, his stubby tail mirroring his excitement in animated wags. Now, put bell peppers in front of him, and that’s where those adorable twirling tail and pleading eyes would be replaced with disdain. You’d think we’d offered him broccoli!

Most nights, you’d find him by the crackling hearth at Pup-Tizers, tales rolling off his tongue about the day’s adventures with Pippa and Stuart. Whilst we humans were grappling with the remnants of our world, this trio spent their evenings reminiscing about the backyard zoomies and the stubborn tennis ball Ollie’d been battling since forever.

Ollie was certainly a social creature, but there was one aspect of collective living he absolutely abhorred- bath time at The Pampered Pooch Salon. Nothing made our post-apocalyptic superhero resort to his regular doggy demeanor like the whiff of impending bath time.

That was Ollie to a T. Scaling mountains, fighting tennis balls, and building post-apocalyptic societies, but the thought of a bath? Well, Ollie was no Hercules.

These are not just stories, are they? They are memories – memories of Ollie. Each little quirk, each adventure, his disdain for baths, and obsession for that old tennis ball have etched Ollie in our hearts forever.

But hey, that’s Pawsburg, that’s Ollie and damned if it wasn’t the finest piece of heaven in a world that had lost all notions of it. It’s funny, isn’t it, how even in the face of an apocalypse, a dog’s story can make you believe in the simplistic serenity of life?
