Pawsburg: A Sniff of Adventure and the Case of the Citrus U.F.O.: A Bummah PawWord Story

Hey there, it’s Bummah. What a day! Hardware stores, peanut butter and alien citrus – Pawsburg’s full of surprises. Almost lost my ducky to a Citrus U.F.O (which turned out to be that prankster Norman at it again). Now, I’m off to dreamland with Lucky and Jinx. ‘Till next adventure, B.
Day breaks over Pawsburg, the sleepy dog town stirs awake from its slumber mixed with dogged dreams and sawdust scents. I’m Bummah, part wit, part Pitbull, and general darling of Thornton Woods. On my journey to dig out the facts of the day, with Lucky the Labrador and Jinx, the over-grammatical parrot, a peculiar day decided to unfold.
I wake up, shaking off sleep, and eyeball my squeaky rubber duck. Giving it a squeeze, I decide today’s the day for adventure. Trotting past The Howling Husky Hardware Store, I can’t help but admire the diversity of wicks and knobs. You see, for dogs, it’s about processing smells, and hardware stores– well, it’s like a Beethoven symphony.
At Bow Wow Burgers, I swipe my paw across the menu, but my mind strays to peanut butter. The silky, smooth, feel of it over my tongue, its sweet and salty seduction is a state of peanut butter euphoria I can’t resist.
Yet our day took an unexpected turn when we wandered into Westie Woods. Lights, unquestionably not a product of anyone’s elaborate BBQ setup, were hovering over the clearings. Jinx lets out a shriek, “Paranormal! Paranormal!”, waking up half the Woods.
“And that bird’s decibel level could shatter a chandelier,” says Lucky, nudging me.
Add to this scene my twinkling collar and voila, you get yourself a Sci-Fi horror flick, doggy-style. We edge closer, the three musketeers of Pawsburg. I tilt my head sideways, a quirk of mine when baffled. There it was, a Citrus U.F.O. — Unidentified Furry Object. I’m immediately hit by an intense whiff of orange peel. Being a natural-born citrus hater, the zest almost singes my nostrils. I dash back, leaving my rubber ducky behind in the fray.
Convincing Lucky and Jinx to retrieve my precious toy wasn’t an easy task, but friendship comes through, and the ducky makes it back, unharmed, smelling slightly of oranges but ecstatic from its extraterrestrial experience.
The Citrus U.F.O. eventually turned out to be a mischievous mixture of Norman, the notorious cat’s ambition, and some citrus-scented neon lights he swiped from the Pupsicle Palace. “I had you going, didn’t I?” he smirked, cat-green eyes gleaming in devious delight.
So, there you go, a paranormal day in a supremely normal dog’s life. As I settle in for the night, Lucky next to me, Jinx perched atop him, I look onto the twinkling lights of Lower Silver Siberian Summit, chuckling, “Dogs and alien citrus, just another day in Pawsburg.”
The End.
