I’ve got my rounds, see—checking in at The Doggie Daycare for a pat on the head, a philosophical debate with the cats at Woof and Whisker Wellness Center, and maybe—if my heart’s feeling brave—a stroll within snout-distance of Fetch-N-Bites.

Today was special, though. It draped the town in a thick mist, the kind that clings to your coat and whispers old sailor’s secrets. And in the midst of that silent symphony of fog, our community found itself in need of a particular set of skills. “We’ll split into teams,” I commanded, the tactical part of my brain kicking in, intelligence mixed with pure, dogged determination. “Deliver the cheer, and remember, it’s about more than just us. It’s about them, the ones we’re waiting for.”
