In a dog’s whisper, tales of Pawsburgh were woven, but none so fetching as the reign of Oscar, the Jack Russell with the spirit of a king.

Cue the soundtrack of paws tapping on cobblestones, as I, Oscar, trotted nonchalantly through the dappled sunlight drenching Kelpie Keys. Being the canine-counterpart to royalty, sovereignty was not just in the luster of my coat but in the spring of my step and my keen eye for the savory escapades of the Doggone Deli.

“Bella, Rufus,” I hailed, my voice a cocktail of mischief and propriety. Bella, ever so ethereal, glided towards me, while Rufus bulldozed his way through, a canine battering ram if ever there was one.

“Oscar,” Rufus huffed, “you called this council session rather suddenly, what’s the urgency?”

Bella tilted her head, mirroring the elegance of the greyhound statues that littered the ancient cities of men.

With jest and jape, we weaved through the alleys and avenues of the Pawsburg, until Opal Pomeranian Park lay before us, teeming with tail-waggers of every size and snout. A stage set, a banquet to reclaim.

In our motley regalia, we gallivanted into the oration of our plight.

“Fellow denizens,” I proclaimed. “Tonight, we dine not on the scraps of misers but the bounty of royals!”

Cheers erupted, the park quaked, and our mission—a triumph as the clandestine kitchen of the Bistro emerged to replenish the chicken source. It wasn’t mere hunger we sated, but a kingdom’s heart.
