Waves of Loyalty: Taser, the Blue Merle Pomeranian, Rides to Victory for Mom: A Taser PawWord Story
Hey Mom,
Just conquered the waves at the Surf Dog Comp and snagged the crown! Each ride was for you – turns out I’m pretty pawesome on a board. Beagle Beach is wild but missing your cuddles. Can’t wait to share my stories when we reunite!
Love and barks,
Taser ππββοΈπΆπ
As the sun slipped behind the Tan Dalmatian Desert in Spencerville, painting the sky in a colorful melange of purples and golds, I lay sprawled on my back, paws up, gazing through the clouds. I’m Taser, the Blue Merle Pomeranian who’s got this whole human-like existence pretty much figured out.
I miss Mom β that’s the truth of it β but I know we’ll be together again, and that thought makes the distance just a little bit easier. They call this place ‘nearly perfect’, and I have to agree. But even in paradise, a dog needs his distractions, and mine is sport.
I’m a bit of a legend on Beagle Beach, where the Surf Dog Competition rules the waves. It’s an event where stars are born and legends frolic. Now, I know what you’re wondering, do Pomeranians surf? Let me tell you, we do here, and I’m about to prove that I’m not only about the fluff.
Beagle Beach was abuzz with anticipation for the grand event. I trotted down the shore, my fur blowing in the salty breeze, blue and white coat vibrant against the white sand. Folks greeted me with wagging tails and warm sniffs β I was friendly to all, but today, it was more than companionship on my mind.
I watched the other competitors, some pawing at the waves with apprehension, others barking at the water as if to scare it into submission. I simply smirked. For in my heart, every wave I rode was for her, my Mom. With her in mind, I was fearless.
“Riders, take your positions!” howled the referee, a sprightly Jack Russell with a whistle around his neck.
I paddled out, my pals from The Doggie Daycare cheering from the shore. My spiky Porcupine toy was safe on land, but in the water, it was just me and the surfboard. The solitude I abhorred on land was a blessing here, as the independence of the sea made me strong.
I glanced up at the sky as if I could see her, knowing Mom would be proud. No longer did I feel like a tiny Pom against the vast ocean; I was Taser, the surf champion of Spencerville.
Then the moment came. The perfect wave rose up, a mammoth of water, the challenge I’d been waiting for. I steadied myself as I felt the swell lift my board, the energy of the ocean propelling me forward. This wasn’t a time to hate solitude; it was a moment to embrace the spotlight.
In a smooth glide, I maneuvered the board, paws steady as I rode the curl of the wave. The shore approached, the crowd’s cheers growing louder, blending with the roar of the water. I rode all the way to the beach, shooting off the board with a triumphant bark as I landed on the sand. I didnβt need a judge to tell me I had won. The exhilaration coursing through my veins was victory enough.
Later, at Bow Wow Burgers, I celebrated with my friends β tails wagging, stories being shared of the waves conquered and those that got away. As the names of winners were announced, and I heard my own, the victor’s crown felt light on my head. More than medals or the fleeting fame, this was really about moments lived to the fullest, chasing the uncatchable, and making even the ephemeral seem eternal.
In each rolling wave, I felt my bond with Mom, and every canine I had grown close to in this nearly perfect place. And as the stars dotted the inky canvas of the sky above Choco Chihuahua Castle and the scent of Pupperoni Pizza wafted through the air, I knew that every midnight cuddle and every heart-to-heart murmur echoed right here.
In Spencerville, I wasn’t just waiting. I was living β and when the day comes, the paddling, the competitions, and the waves will be just stories, stories to share with her when I’m back at her side. Each win, an ode to our reunion. But until then, I’ll keep surfing, keep living each day to its fullest, always her loyal Taser β even if she can’t see me wag my tail.
The End.
