The universe has a funny way of making you feel at home, even when your paws ain’t on your ol’ familiar ground. Now, where do I begin? You see, over yonder in Spencerville, dogs like me—well, pets like me—live out our starry days while waiting for a cosmic reunion with our humans. And mmm, do I miss my Mom something fierce! Today was a real humdinger. I started out at Chihuahua Castle, a place as grand as any palace in this galaxy swift as light. The Spencerville sun cast its golden rays through the battlements, illuminating spaces fit for races and chases. Little Bit, the orange Manx cat, and I played pawsies and tails in lands reserved for tails that waggled and noses that sniffed.

And onward we ventured, past Fetch! Toys and Treats, which—mind you—holds some mystic allure of treasures that even a dog like me finds it hard to resist. I snagged Sydney the koala bear for our jaunt, ‘cause the cosmos out there could sure be needin’ a cuddle or two. Bear in tow, we wazooed to the canyon where even the crags seemed alive, whispering secrets of ancient barks and bounding paws.

As we careened down the canyon, it occurred to me just how spiffing this place is—a symphony of barks echoing through cosmic canyons, a universe wrapped in the soft embrace of timeless friendship.

Our paws traversed the winding trails till we worked up a downright cosmic appetite. So, a stopover at Bone Appetit felt right, where the allure of chicken had me feeling more grounded than a seasoned star sailor. The aroma was as tantalizin’ as Carolina mornings, and my olfactory senses didn’t need any persuadin’.

“Pep,” an interstellar bark came from Jake, a Corgi mix whose tan fur rivaled the golden auroras of Spencerville’s timeless sky, “have ya heard? There’s a constellation party at the Canine Café tonight!”

“Woo-hee!” I yipped with delight, “You reckon them stars will share their secrets?”

With a twinkle in his eye, Jake answered, “Oh, they always do, but only if ya listen real close.”
