Katie Lynn PawWord Story
Hey, it’s Katie Lynn here, aka Bonny the Citric-fearing Lab! Epic day – Max & Daisy helped me rescue Tiny from a citrus perfumed trap at Fishy Bites. All in a day’s work and a few disguises later, Pawsburg remains safe! Who’s a good dog, you ask? Us, obviously! 😉🦴🐾
It was just another ordinary day in Pawsburg, or so I thought. With the early golden dawn coloring the usual hush, I braced myself for what lay ahead – The Great Citrus Caper. That’s right, Bonny, the citric-fearing, lovable Labrador on an impossible rescue mission.
This great adventure started at the Eastern White Westie Woods, a place that normally buzzes with the merrymaking of frolicking dogs. Yet, the news of Tiny’s disappearance had cast a shadow over the jovial woods. My anxiety mirrored the distress echoing through the woods. Tiny was not just any toy; he was my companion, my brother in arms. His missing presence was a puzzle; a mystery needed to be resolved.
With Max and Daisy by my side, we started our quest. Max, the tenacious Dachshund, was more than prepared for any obstacle, and Daisy, the dignified English Setter, was as calm and as composed as ever.
We journeyed across the Golden Gate Gardens, our senses hitting an overload with the sweet smells of summer. Max led the way, his short stumpy legs a blur of energy beneath him.
The first hint came from Daisy. Her perked up, twisting ears zeroed in on a remote rustling sound from Collie Canyon. A clue, perhaps?
The trail of Tiny’s unique lavender scent led us distressingly close to the one place we dreaded – Fishy Bites, home to the infamously citrus-infused salmon cakes. From down the lane came the whiff of familiarity that brought shudders to my spine. A whiff of… lemons.
I dared a peek inside through the window. There was Tiny, hanging precariously from the ceiling, just above the counter. It was a setup – a citrus perfumed trap that only Tiny could attract me into. A woof too far, I’d say!
But nothing was impossible for us. After a quick grooming stop at The Pampered Pooch Salon to mask our scent, we wore disguises from Pet Partners Pet Supplies – Feathered boas for Daisy, bunny ears for Max, and I donned a pair of oversized sunglasses.
Like a pack of incognito superheroes, we crept into to Fishy Bites. Daisy, with her aristocratic posture, drew an unsuspecting crowd at a table, while Max somehow managed to sneak under the counter, his stubby body surprisingly agile.
And there I was, relying on my expertise in sniff-deception, trying not to get distracted by the citrus smells. I grabbed the lime, swallowing the urge to run. The moment I held Tiny in my paws, the relief was overwhelming. Our mission was a success!
With our dear friend back, we celebrated with a hearty meal at our favorite place – The Barkery. As we dug into our feast, I looked around at Max and Daisy, comrades who braved through the impossible for a friend. Tiny laid next to me, innocent and oblivious of the perils we had countered that day.
And as the sun set into Collie Canyon, we all trotted back home to our humans who, unbeknownst to our thrilling adventures in Pawsburg, patted us on our heads and said, “Who’s a good dog?”
Well, if only they knew. For in Pawsburg, we may be dogs, but dogs who dared to conquer the impossible!
The End.
