Paloma PawWord Story
Hey Mom, it’s Toots! Today was a wild one in Pawsburg. The usual fun at Fetch-N-Bites was halted by some shady feline shenanigans. But guess who saved the day? Me! Got our spot opened again with some clever barking tactics. The chicken taste of victory was delicious! Off to another adventure tomorrow. Love and licks, Toots. 🐾🐶
Here I am all cozy in my pup-bed, my red-fawn face buried in my favorite stuffed T-Rex fellah, but something doesn’t sit right. Who’s that yapping outside? You know, humans will tell you they dream in leagues – night and day, past and future. Us, preferably in smells and sounds. Especially us bulldogs, we’re more original this way.
So, my ears perk up, just as my attention bolts towards the late-night prattling outside. I sneakily make my way towards the crack under the door which was still leaking a little of the day’s sun. Pawsburg! It was Pawsburg-time! The citrusy wind tells of Fawn Pug Palace parties, the taste of seaweed whispers of moonlit adventures at Brown Boxer Beach, and ohhhh the crisp cool air hums about South Poodle Pond escapades!
Swaggering down Doggy Delight, I recognized our gang’s smell – Natty, Guiness, and Kahlua. In a blink, I’m there, ready to toss the T-rex of fun with my gang. Pawsburg was our stage, and good time, our script.
But something felt rather off today. My favorite Fetch-N-Bites. boarded up! Apparently, that sneaky feline from The Fetching Feline Pet Emporium with matted fur, who always irks me, spilled water on the floor which caused a minor accident, blaming it on us, the doggie patron squad. I could hear the incessant meowing-gossip around. Revenge, that’s the scent that filled up my nostrils. Not exactly chicken, which I normally prefer, but this was a dish best served cold.
That feline was going to taste a Bulldog’s wrath. This was Pawsburg and here we had a reputation to uphold. And I, Paloma, ain’t shy of a good challenge. Except a vacuum cleaner. Or rain. Or a bath. Or solitude. Or greens. But this! This was me unleashing my inner Tina Fey.
I had a plan just as dandy. A loveable mischief that only us, dogs could cook up. I had this knack for barking at nothing. A skill that today would serve a purpose. Purpose distilled into the sweet nectar of vengeance! I set myself under The Fetching Feline Pet Emporium’s window and barked. A looming specter in the shadows, an enigma, a question bedeviling that feline’s whimsy mind.
She was conned. Fooled to think she was the queen of Pawsburg! We made our point, it was a dog town, it would remain that. With her dignity scratched, she confessed her water-spilling foul play and Fetch-N-Bites opened again!
Desire reinstated and the spoils of victory tasted so so sweet! Yeah, revenge tastes quite like those chicken bits I adore. I had taught that feline a lesson she would never forget, wearing my triumph like a shiny new collar. Today it was Paloma’s day in Pawsburg!
As the day gave way to night, I snuck back into my human’s abode, panting in exhaustion and satisfaction, buried into my warm bed with my faithful T-Rex fellah, still faintly smelling of the Pawsburg airs, I wondered if tomorrow would feature another quirky tale, another badge to honor as I would get ready to meet my buds for another round in our favorite town, Pawsburg!
The End.
