Tozer PawWord Story
“Hey Mom, remember that idyllic Pawsburg I’ve been telling ya about? Yeah, well, it seems Tozer, our lovable Tasmanian Devil of a bulldog, has truly made his mark here. He’s about as popular as fur-covered pie with these town folk and he’s even managed to play cupid, helping me get close to a fine ol’ match – Duchess, the beauty of Western Labradoodle Lake. So it’s official mom, both Tozer aka Mr. Man and I, have fallen head over paws in love with Pawsburg. Let ya know more over our next chew toy shopping spree. Chow! – Tozer & Co.”
“in Pawsburg, it ain’t like those well-trodden paths of New York or the syrupy sweetness of suburbia. Salt of the earth folks they ain’t. Nope, Pawsburg dances to a different tune, a distinctly canine rhythm. And in that jamboree, there ain’t a soul who doesn’t know Tozer. Yeah, that Tozer, the one with the heart as big as his bulging, bulldog jowls.
I ain’t assuming you’ve been under a rock, but lemme whip out a word-picture for ya. Streets lined with eateries like ‘Fur Tacos’ where they’d serve ya food that even works its magic on Tozer’s discerning palate. Boutiques that Tozer’d saunter into and fetch the choicest toys, least I reckon it was choice, Tozer could never resist a good tuggin’ with that Tonka tire.
The day I remember was the one where the sun shone just right and Tozer led us to Western Labradoodle Lake. The water on his burly bulldog body, trust me, it was a sight to behold. Him running, splashing and frolicking about like a young pup filled with exuberance. But that wasn’t what caught my eye, no siree.
The second I saw her across the lake, a maiden as regal as they come, me heart melted like a Pawsburg snowman under the sizzling July sun. The Duchess, her black and white coat gleaming under the afternoon sun, right there in front of me, Tozer and the whole of Pawsburg.
Tozer’s eyes met mine, a knowing glint reflected in his gaze as he nudged me forward. The world of Pawsburg blurred into a backdrop, a portrait of trompe l’oeil from an artist’s dream. It was only her and me, and two hearts beating in flavoured rhythm. She saw me, her orbs scanning right to the deep crevices of my soul like those well-knownudit folks back in New York.
Lo and behold, Tozer did it. He was no cupid, but that day, all it took was his waggly tail and sly canine charms, and our world shifted. We are no Romeo and Juliet, but there’s something in the way she smiles, and the way I now see Pawsburg, tinted in her smile and filled with sunshine. Tozer, the bulldog, was my sidekick, my icebreaker, and ultimately, my wingman. And lemme tell ya, there ain’t nothing like love in Pawsburg.”
The End.
