As a spirited character in Pawsburg’s grand tapestry, Omar knew his purpose. Lapping water from Retriever River, his keen observer gaze softened. “My friends,” he began, his voice a gentle rumble echoing from the Mastiff within, “today we tell our tale, not through the wag of our tails, but through the strength of our bark.”

Nods of affirmation passed between Bagel and Misty, their loyalty unwavering. Tiggie, the tabby, languidly flicked her tail in amusement. If anyone ever questioned the brotherhood between dogs and cats, Tiggie and Omar stood as testimony.

“Omar,” Bagel interrupted, his beagle-ish curiosity piqued, “Why the sudden all-dog meeting?”

Tiggie, stretched out to her full length on a warm patch of Maltese Meadow, mused, “More like a lecture, I’d say.”

Omar, undeterred, replied, “Because, Bagel, we have a grave concern on our paws. The folk refuse to understand our disdain for processed food.”

Coincidently, my stomach gave a longing gurgle, betraying my thoughts to the haunting aroma wafting from Ruff-n-Ready. The chef dog Blaze had whipped up his signature dish – Grilled T-bone steak, a dish that usually made me drool in anticipation.

“But Omar,” Bagel pursued, “What about all the delectable treats form Bark and Bites?”
