Oh, hey, it’s me, Cairo! And OMG, do I have the craziest tale to pant to you from Pawsburgh – talk about an adventure that has all my fur standing on end! But fair warning, this is some supernatural level stuff. Yes, you heard that right. Even in a magical town like ours, things got extra, well, *woof*, if you catch my drift.

So, there I was, strolling through Terrier Town, where the fire hydrants sang and the lamp posts twinkled with perpetual fairy lights. My coat shimmered with that twilight glow – you know, the one that makes all the other pooches stop and tilt their heads like, “Whoa, who’s that dapper dog?” I wasn’t just strutting; I was performing a public service by being my fabulous self!

Anyway, I turned the corner onto Pearl Papillon Promenade, all chill and content, my beloved squeaky blob toy held high in my jaws, when I heard the sound – a sort of whimpery, whiny, ghosty vibe. No big deal, I thought, but the little blob toy fell silent in my mouth, which, lemme tell you, never happens!

Now, I’m not one to shy away from an intriguing situation; my curiosity is like, way up there. So, despite my high standards, I decided to investigate. A fog rolled in, like something out of a Halloween special, and I made my way to Pomeranian Park, the blob toy giving me brave little squeaks of encouragement.

At the park, under the grandest old oak tree, ethereal howls seemed to whisper my name, “Caaairo… Caaairo.” And there she was – the ghostly figure of Duchess Fluffington IV, a legend known to every pup in Pawsburgh. She was ethereal and floaty, and I’ll admit, my heart did this funny little skip. A haunted pom-pom with dignity – only in Pawsburgh, folks!

Despite my initial shock – which, I will totally deny if you tell anyone – Duchess Fluffington entrusted me with a mission. A spectral squirrel had been swiping spectral nuts, and without them, the Annual Ghostly Gala couldn’t go on. I mean, priorities, right?

I bounded across the town, recalling the tiniest of clues from my late-night goss sessions with Mistress Pip and Sir Barkley. Near the woods by Snout Snacks, there it was – a trail of phantom nuts leading straight to – hold your squeaky toys – The Pampered Pooch Salon! *Drama*, am I right?

As luck and pluck would have it, I confronted the spectral squirrel, a drama queen in its own right, who was just about to enjoy a mani-pedi. After much debate – I did my best courtroom drama impersonation – we came to a compromise. Who knew all it wanted was to feel fabulous?

Victorious, I returned the spectral nuts to the Duchess, who rewarded me with a ghostly lick and an invitation to the gala. Can you imagine me at a ghost party? I’m picturing a dance floor with all the night glow options!

And then, just like that, I woke up. Was it all a dream? The baker grinning at me with those “good morning, silly dog” vibes, the blob toy safe beside me, but something felt… different. I swear the toy winked at me. Or was it just your classic morning eye gunk?
