“Whatcha doin’, Taz?” called out Sasha, her sleek coat glimmering under the Pawsburgh festive lights as she strode towards me with the grace of a queen.

“Dude, what’s with the noise?” complained a scruffy Terrier, poking his head out of a burrow in Terrier Town. “Some of us are tryin’ to dream about chasing mailmen here!”

“Sorry, friend, just prepping for the holiday hoorah!” I howled back with a wag of my tail.

As the moon waned, my confidence waxed. I marched back into town with paws pulsating with every step, like a four-legged metronome.

I snuck into the Bistro, the heart of the holiday fest, where the canines were prancing to the classical Barkhovens and Choppins. But this pup? I was about to unleash tails of a new tune.

Without a warning bark, I launched into my routine. A drumroll here, a hi-hat tattle there. Dogs glanced over, frowns turning to intrigued wiggles as their ears perked to my rhythm. Toes tapped, and tails swung—soon enough, the entire gathering was howling in delight.

“The boy’s got chops!” barked an Old English Sheepdog, his woolly swaying as he moved.

I could see Sasha swaying with the crowd, a wide grin spreading across her face. “That’s my boy Taz!”
