Today promised the comforting routine of Spencerville life peppered with those spontaneous moments that tickle the soul like a rogue feather on the nose. The agenda was gloriously clear: a visit to Pup-Tastic Pizza for a slice of the good life, a jaunt to The Tail Wagger’s Tailor (because even a robust chap like myself must look the part), followed by a rendezvous with the ocean, my dear, vast friend.

I descended the stairs, each step a grand entrance in my mind, to find Dovah and Levi already wrestling playfully in the living room, a ballet of paws and affection.
