‘Twas on a blustery evening when the howls of the wind seemed almost conversational that Taz—yes, the pitbull with a presence like a tempest—came barreling into Paw-lickin’ Pancakes, his eyes wide with bewilderment. The establishment, known for its batter blends and syrupy confections, was empty save for myself, ensconced in my usual booth and delighting in a crepe as delicate as the mist of a dew-kissed dawn.
