Some say I’m a bundle of energy wrapped in fur, and to them, I say, “You bet your tail I am!” Today, my first stop was the Pupperoni Pizza. Luigi, the Pug who runs the joint, has paws of gold. As much as I cherished mornings by the fountain, the afternoons held their own charm—the rumble of the Doggy Bus as it zipped us around town, the fleeting encounters with old friends and the animated moments with new ones.

Bouncing in the backseat of the Doggy Bus, wind billowing through the open windows, I thought of my mom. Sure, I missed her. But every dashboard daisy, every waft of ham, spoke to me in a reassuring whisper, she would be here someday. Until then, Spencerville was mine to conquer.

When twilight descended, and I found myself back at Lower Golden Gate Gardens, I curled up and pondered the adventures of the day. I’ve got friends here, more scoops of love than a thousand bowls of kibble, and enough mysteries to keep my beagle brain endlessly entertained.
