Percy PawWord Story
“Hey Dad, it’s Perce. Guess what, I’m a hero now! Stared down the one eyed monster (aka vacuum) in Tail Waggers. Sent it flying out a window! Had steak to celebrate. Living the Spencerville dream! Later, Fleabag”
Chapter 847: Percy, Avenger of Spencerville
“Oh honey, did I tell you about that one time I fought a vacuum cleaner?” That is Percy, my ever-enthusiastic fellow, always willing to go down memory lane. You can see it in his sharp, intelligent eyes, full of stories, just begging to be told.
Picture Spencerville on a sunny afternoon. It’s an undeniable doggie paradise, I mean South Poodle Pond is gleaming under sunlight, Fawn Cream Maltese Meadow looks like an eloquent version of a fairy tale.
First stop for the day was Tail Waggers, where you can get anything from beef jerky milkshake – which is honestly a food crime but let’s not get into that, to oven-baked peanut butter cookies that not even Gordon Ramsey can resist. Word of advice, though, never order the kale and spinach salad! Percy swears, “Oh boy, the one thing I don’t touch, salad. Bleh!”
So, there it happened, the great ‘Percy vs Vacuum cleaner’ battle. We all know his aversion to the noisy monster. I mean, he’s brave, he’s athletic, but that vacuum…it’s his kryptonite. He charged at it seeing the menace infiltrating his beloved Doggy Depot.
“That thing looked at me with its one big eye, I swear,” Percy would say with playfully exaggerated seriousness. “It just came at me, and I was like, ‘Um, excuse me, not on my watch!’ It had invaded my serenity so, like Captain America, sis, I leapt into action.”
Unique triumphant sparkle filled his eyes as he narrated the rest. “I gave it a good bite, and trust me, it flew right out of the window, bam!”
Guess what everyone? Percy actually became a local legend that day, Spencerville’s Pet Avenger, how cool is that?!
Later that night, we went to ‘Pooched Potatoes’ to celebrate victory over the enemy. Percy ordered a heaping plate of deliciously seared steak, well, because he is a hero, right? He deserved a hero’s feast. Spenser, the resident bartender, who is usually as cheerful as a crypt-keeper, actually gave us a real grin! And trust me, that’s Oscar-worthy rare.
And that brings to close, yet another daring episode featuring Percy, the Avenger of Spencerville, our resident tail-wagging hero.
“All in a day’s work,” Percy would humbly say. And I can’t help but feel an overflow of affection for this brave, quirky pet friend of mine. In the end, Percy is but a fun-loving dog who embodies the spirit of Spencerville, where every pet gets to live their adventure in their own paw-some way.
The End.
